Hi
Yes thats pretty much it in a nutshell , we never have , and never will use Hermes , we ONLY use DPD , if you're a customer of there's you will know what a reverse it is , this is what we did , for those that don't know , a reverse it is , we sent a DPD labelled bag to the customer , inside is a barcode label that they take out , stick it to the parcel being collected , take the parcel away and it's sent to us.

We have had the bag delivered back to us , informing us there was no parcel to collect.

Cheers Ian

So essentially, if this is true (not saying it isn't) then I would say the issue is with Engine Tuner, and that the parcel has either been stolen by a chancer, stolen by a Hermes courier (because they would not take it without a Hermes barcode label and DPD barcode labels do not go through their machine).

So essentially, Engine Tuner needs to speak to their local Hermes courier (by maybe booking in another collection albeit a fake collection), bollock their receptionist for leaving the parcel out unattended, and move on with the what seems fair compromise that has been offered.

However, I feel maybe Engine Tuner are not accepting that Godspeed only use DPD, and this is the fundamental basis for their claim.

Maybe Engine Tuner, for their peace of mind, could just ring Hermes and see if Godspeed have a merchant account with them if they needed further clarification.

If you find I have a Hermes account , and I ordered a collection by them , I will donate my WRC car to charity !

Here's is a pic I have just taken of the reverse it bag , label is peeled back as I was seeing if anything was written on the label under it , the left hand label is what should have gone onto the parcel coming back to us , a different address to ours as its the drivers base address

I have just spoken to someone who has parcels collected by Hermes , and they say they will always get an email confirming they are picking up , they have labels with barcodes to stick to the parcel , and you get a slip with tracking details on.

I did ask Alan if someone could have walked in and stolen something , but he says no , I'm starting to think yes

Cheers Ian

Yes Hermes will email you, and provide a label to print out and stick on, which has the area number, address for delivery and a barcode. The barcode being the most important as the driver cannot take the parcel without the barcode, as it stays on their machine as an uncollected pick up if they do not scan it.

Did Engine Tuner put the DPD label on the parcel they recieved from Godspeed?

So this parcel, is all marked up as DPD sitting on the front desk with no receptionist.

So I really think, based on what has been said so far, Engine Tuner have been robbed, or their local Hermes driver has a parcel floating around in their van.

Maybe Alan has more to add?

Ok, I can see the point Alan is making.

Enginer Tuner - you have lost the calipers, its simple as that really. If the calipers had been returned I imagine a refund for them would of been issued. However there is the issue that the workmanship was claimed not to be good.

Godspeed - Whether you agree with the poor workmanship or not, customer wasn't happy, but customer did lose the return parcel.

Why not just go, go for 50/50 on the total cost, whoeever refunds who to work out each party gets half, chalk it up to a bad experience, stop the stress.

Not everyone is perfect 100percent of the time, wether its labeling parcels or reconning engine/brake calipers.

Probably not the best solution for each party, but really, I dont see you guys being able to agree on this ....unless you want to have a scrap in the car park, but thats entirely your choice!

It is a pity that two well respected companies couldn't have dealt with this in private.

Even if goodspeed organised Hermes collection enginetuner has no receipt for it.
if goodspeed was fed up with constantly telling him his calipers leaking i don't think he would take his money.
Ian i wouldn't step in to his workshop, he could tell You steal something other when You do.

Two grown men, both earning very well by the looks of it falling out and damaging each others business and reputation over what is a pittance in the greater scheme of things.

Alan you need to grow up a little and accept some responsibility, and Ian don't lower yourself, Nothing good will come from this.

My mum would say the pair of you need your heads banging together to knock some sense into the both of you.

Hermes wont collect without a hermes label printed off and stuck to the parcel, i use them regularly and this is a fact.
It would 100% need a hermes label before they would take it.

Gentlemen, and Ditchy in particular. You all love this sort of controversy, so please don't pretend otherwise!

I'm pleased to report that Ian and I have now privately reached a late but perfectly acceptable agreement, so everybody is going to have a happy life..

I thank myself for my mediation...but it was obviously Fawors epic comment striking intelligence with balance, along with his great use of English grammar that sorted this entire problem out.
