Whats everyone on this thread paying for Sky.

I myself have - Variety pack, HD, sports(including F1) unlimited broadband, telephone with unlimited calls (bar the stupid 08 & 09) numbers.

£87 notes per month.

And for that I get 160 TV channels, 10MB broadband, (we aat the end of a phone line and can't have more at present), plus UNLIMITED landline calls to anywhere in the world, 24/7/365 for free, and NO LINE RENTAL.

The UK companies are taking the **** for sure Rip Off Britain is alive and well.
This is bizarre though isn't it , ...

It must have cost more than the average UK install to have your lot put in there

Exactly your package is small and thus cheap

Yes, the Sky package in our household is smaller than many others' on here, hence cheaper. I'm sure bigger the Sky package, bigger the other metaphorical package as self-perceived by some here; although it's out to spill its contents at anything going, thus utter and dirt cheap. Anyway, we're not that much into television due to other priorities, nor is anyone in our household religious for Formula 1 racing etc. So it will be waste to spend any more than what we already do.

As has been said already by others on this thread, why would you
pay when with a little knowledge it's all available FOC.

Lol, £80 a month to watch tv.

Ok show me in PM how i can get Sky F1 in HD and 5.1 surround, live, legally, with the convenience of Sky+ or a PVR with recording etc and on a regular basis free without any delays please.

As I said before, if you want to reduce your sky package down to a reasonable price here is how it works.

Sky "how may I help you?"

You "I would like to cancel my sky subscription please"

Sky "that's a shame, any reason why?"

You "I do enjoy the service , I just can't afford it any more"

Sky "no problem, I will put you through to disconnections who will arrange this for you"

Sky "hello sir, I hear you wish to cancel your service"

You "yes please"

Sky "any particular reason why?"

You "I've already said I can't afford it"

Sky "would it help if we removed some extras from your package?"

You "not really, I can't afford it"

Sky "no problem sir your service will cease 30 days from today"

Roll forward 2 weeks...

Sky "hello sir this is sky, I understand you have already given notice to cancel your service but I have been asked to call you to see if you have changed your mind"

You "unfortunately not"

Sky "how about if I could offer you an extra special deal, would you reconsider?"

You "not really but tell me the deal anyway"

Sky "how about some vouchers?"

You "sorry, no"

Sky "can you hold for a minute"

You "ok"

Sky "I have spoken to my manager who says as a one off we can offer you a minimum of 50% discount off any service we offer for 12 months and the first month free, all with no minimum term"

You "that's great, I accept"

Not too difficult is it

I did a Scotty from Star Trek, "She's about to blow, Captain!!" impression, and was lambasted by my work colleagues that I sounded Indian.

If you want all the channels then £150 one off fee and £50 a year + a broadband feed will do it with investigation.
If you want HD, catch up, Recordability with series link etc etc then you will have to put up and shut up.
Its only going to get more expensive as you only have two real choices and thats if you have a Cable line!

I have opted for basic the Sky package, discounted for six months, but I can still get any channel including PPV non HD.
I don't feel bad.

Exactly, but how you can watch anything not in HD or 1080p in this day and age is beyond me.

My girlfriend and Mother still can't tell the difference between standard channels and HD channels . Is it a female thing?

HD lol there are some serious techno snobs / victims on here, personally I don't care what format it's in as long as I can see it, but then again I grew up with black and white TV so just being able to see it in colour is a revelation to me.

It's nothing to do with snobbery you old fart When you're used to HD and its your main source for TV and then if you have to go back to SD it just looks bloody awful, simple as that.
