Audio; has to be good.
Visual; whatever I can see will do.
3D is crap, 4k is a gimmick, curved screens are hilarious.
The only screen I have to have pin sharp is my laptop.

That you are paying £80 when others are paying less??
Personally I think sky is hugely over rated. I had sky via cable
20 years ago and had everything except sports for £25 quid a month
including phone.
I did have sky for broadband as I was with O2 broadband when they sold
it to sky but they tried to mug me by upping the price so I just cancelled
it and went with BT for £7.50 a month unlimited.

On the ISP front why not go with plusnet? they are cheaper than BT but as you probably know run by BT, so use the same backbone/pipes and services.

My HD runs out every February. I ring up and say I won't renew and they always throw it in for free with the F1.
Recently Sky increased their charges. I spoke to them and said I wanted to leave. They offered me a Galaxy tablet to stay. I agreed to stay

A 'few' posts have been deleted Please let that be the end of your little bun fight.
Back on topic . . .
I just binned off Sky after getting fed up the constant price rises. Now have a Mut@nt HD2400 Linux box with 2 DVB-S and one DVB-T2/C hybrid tuner - running Freesat, Freeview and IPTV on it. Superb box, very configurable and excellent features. Wish I'd done it sooner.

No, I don't get much chance these days. We don't really watch that much TV and most of the channels we do watch are available FTA. I use Freeview for Dave/Dave ja vu and Freesat for the rest since there's more in HD the quality is generally better.
The box does give me the option to use streaming and 'gifts' should I feel the need
I expect IPTV will eventually take over from satellite and hopefully open up the market to other providers with some pricing competition. Sky have consumers over a barrel at the moment.

Sky have the rights to show half of the live races.
You can watch them on RTL, albeit in SD with some dish tweaking or a 2nd LNB.
Code:
March 15 Australian GP Sky March 29 Malaysian GP Sky/BBC April 12 Chinese GP Sky April 19 Bahrain GP Sky/BBC May 10 Spanish GP Sky May 24 Monaco GP Sky June 7 Canadian GP Sky/BBC June 21 Austrian GP Sky July 5 British GP Sky/BBC July 19 German GP Sky July 26 Hungarian GP Sky/BBC August 23 Belgian GP Sky/BBC September 6 Italian GP Sky September 20 Singapore GP Sky September 27 Japanese GP Sky/BBC October 11 Russian GP Sky/BBC October 25 USA GP Sky November 1 Mexican GP Sky November 15 Brazilian GP Sky/BBC November 29 Abu Dhabi GP Sky/BBC

Yep not a lot of them are live on the BBC plus they don't show any of the practice sessions or qualy live or in much detail.
Oh and also their coverage/analysis is sh1te. Sky's team (mostly ex BBC, Brundle etc) are superb imo.
RTL, I don't understand German although my mrs is a kraut

ah OK
did not realise BBC only had a subset of the races
I don't really watch it tbh, but do listen to it on the radio if it is on
last time I watched it, the qualifying was much more exciting I seem to remember
I actually prefer it on the radio (same with boxing)
