My issue with immigration is from a different angle. I have no problem with highly skilled people coming over here. If one of my children needed open heart surgery I want the best person to do it, I don't care where they are from.
Yes we should train our own people but there is no problem with importing talent from around the world.

I have an issue with an influx of unskilled labour. All that does is push down wages for the lower paid indigenous population and also suck tax revenues in the form of in work benefits.

And I do wonder if that's the reason the CBI etc are pro europe ie they can pay lower wages which are then subsidised by the tax payer.

Sorry wrong again, we need fee paying foreign students that bring millions into the country not only in fees but accommodation and the money they spend while they are here for between 1/3yrs sometimes up to 6yrs these people help keep the uni's open and help fund less profitable courses as well as keep Brits like my wife in a job. So what does our stupid government do? target these people because they are legitimate and easy to spot and give them hell over visa's but 10 Romanian gypos turn up in a clapped out Zastava at Dover that can't even read or write, have next to no money with the grand plan of begging, stealing and claiming what ever they can and the red carpet gets rolled out.

That's a much bigger issue, those with money obviously from well to do families or sponsored by their own governments who fully intend to leave the country when they have finished their education are being treated like criminals and refused entry or being deported on arrival, which is something they did to a Japanese student I knew personally, go figure.

The European Parliament is another huge pig trough for the politicos to stick the big fat snouts in so I doubt any of them really want to leave.
