As Tidgy said, Subaru UK put about plenty of BS about part compatability but suddenly realised that it was a funding stream they could exploit. The likes of Keith Micheal or A Plan will happily quote you for a modded car, JDM Import or specialist niche car with some surprising results on price.

I had a uk300 running 336bhp for nearly 5years with only problem being lambda sensor. Vf28,pinks,sti tmic, decatted, sti inlet etc and mapped by duncan. My mate had a blob sti again decated and mapped to around 340ish. I used to pull away from him time and time again. Love it when the under dog on top.

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/subaru/impreza-wrx/subaru-impreza-41t-wrx-turbo--ltd-300---------------2005/4284441
It looks and sounds ideal? But would like some opinions of you could? Thanks

Out of curiosity are the engines in the WRX and Sti that much different? I only ask because if the WRX with a PPP is a mapped version of the WRX then would that pretty much be its limit of power? Or is there more room for improvement?

The PPP map still retains the stock CATS and turbo. Air in/Air out are the limiting factors. Remove the cats/fit sport cats, upgrade the fuel pump and the standard turbo is good for 280/290bhp+ once remapped.
Exchange the standard turbo for a larger one from an STi, STi fuel injectors and a few other bits & pieces and the WRX engine can run 320/330bhp +.
Keep increasing turbo and fueling and the limit becomes the pistons/rods/block.
Some people run upto 400bhp without opening the WRX engine. Other let go running far less power. Luck of the draw really.
All somewhat irrelevant as the WRX 5-Speed 'box is at it's annectdotal limit @350bhp(and equivalent torque).
So WRX engine, decat/sports cat exhaust, uprated fuel pump, STi injectors, better air-filter, STi turbo should see a reliable @320bhp, if properly mapped.
If you want more than that, buy an STi in the first place.

You should be more then happy with the 270-290 just a decat and remap and panel filter will give! Its not breath taking performance but it will be faster then say a 330 bmw or golf r32 and reliable.
Theres no point going bonkers on a wrx just enjoy it for what it is (a bargin comfatable impreza)
