But you can't, thats the point On the surface they look like easy faults, but if it was easy the previous owner would have fixed them and upped the price a bit, the fact that they havent been fied tells you it is not simple....

Parts are expensive and you are looking at a turd, if thats what is already wrong with it, it hasnt exactly had an easy life either so it wont be just that.

The whole point of buying a car is to get the best example you can with your money, so find one that hasnt been thrashed, crashed and bashed to within an inch of its life.

For classic's parts are cheap. Theres nothing wrong in buying one that needs work, going for cheap. But ones your looking at seem over priced with faults. I wouldn't want to pay more than a grand for the first one you were looking at.

What you looking for, 4 door saloon facelift?

Yes preferably want a facelift or one thats had the front end face lifted in reasonable condition as I said before I'm not expecting mint. 2k max budget and I'm not fussed about any engine mods the more standard engine the better.

Just found another one (import) but it's got a bozz ecu which I've read are no good for UK due to the fuel grade we use as there set up on 100ron. Anyone else running the same ecu?

No such thing as a cheap classic, dont care what anyone says!! Even slight bubbling to the arches that everyone says in there adverts is a cheap easy fix, if its that easy/cheap get it done then, but everyone knows that a proper job done and painted will cost you the same price as a cheap classic to start off with.

If your going to buy a classic, you need to buy the best available, problem is you could probably get a blob STi for the same money.

There available you just have to be quick when they come up for sale, small bubbles of rust don't cost thousands to get fixed.

There's a stunning one on autotrader now. Same as mine but newer and cleaner, more miles though. £2800,1 owner. Looks great but it's in Wakefield I think.

Found you 2, first one is a facelift, 2nd isn't but is an STI and needs a few jobs going so may go cheap.

Anything can be fixed if you have enough money, and seeing as the OP obviously does not have "enough" money, then he isnt going to get a rust free example.

And as I am sure you are aware, classics rust from inside out so if it is showing on the exterior, then the interior is completely and utterly ****ed....
