Newage STI Rear Wing - starting to look a bit silly
I think that it is more the case that you are worrying too much about what other people think about you having an impreza at your age.
Why are you worried about what other people think?
Basing what you drive on your perception of what other people may think will start with you changing the spoiler & exhaust, but will end up with you driving a bland mobile just to fit in, & you will not be happy, but you will fit in. You will become a sheep, following the rest of the flock.
Driving an impreza is about going your own way, being an individual, despite what the people around you may think, or even because of the way the people around you may think.
You are being a bit of a rebel driving an Impreza these days, when fuel is so expensive, & the government is putting the motor tax up to ridiculous levels, & trying to get everybody to be happy driving a 1.0 ****-box. You are refusing to give in, no matter what pressure is put on you to drive a ****-box.
The spoiler & loud exhaust on the impreza set it apart from other cars, but to me that is the whole point of having an impreza. You should be proud of that spoiler & loud exhaust.
Without them the impreza is just another car...baa...baa.

I like the 300 wing, still think it looks great. Slimwiltaz car looks awesome. I def want one.
I like spec d's,all the benefits of an sti whilst not drawing all the usual attention and you get a few extra creature comforts along the way too. A wolf in sheeps clothing has always been the best way.

I think it all comes down to personal taste. I know there's no real point in comparing the Classic shape to newage, but I've been through a few different looks and still struggling to think what looks best...

60lbs quoted at 100mph.
These are still insignificants amount of downforce really, but also the calculations only take into account the top element of the wing, and not the flared base.

You realise that 140lbs at 150mph does not mean that the wing generates zero downforce at 149mph?

Need an MS Paint interpretation really to know what is meant by "angled back". The shape of my wings base is certainly the shape/angle to encourage downforce rather than lift.
I'm sure Subaru put at least some thought into the aero on the car. It's a boxy saloon at the end of the day, so it's not been built around an aero philosophy - the wing has just been bolted on to add stability.
There was an interesting thread knocking around somewhere, possibly NASIOC which explained the scoop size on the blobeye and why it was so much bigger than the classics, bugs or hawks. It was all a result of wind tunnel testing and the stubbier front nose of the Blobeye causing a low pressure point where the smaller shape scoop should be collecting air.

I meen the blade slopes downwards towards the road hence you get the two devil horns either side. So it resembles a aeroplane wing with the air pushing up on the bottom of the blade. Im sure there would be little to no airflow to the bottom section of the spoiler so id go with the therie that theres little to no downforce produced

Don't know how your car is set up buddy but mine (and the many others I've seen) don't tilt backwards as you suggest. Were it to do so it would certainly generate lift rather than downforce, but it doesn't. Perhaps the suspension set up on a WRX means a fitted Sti wing slopes the wrong way? Good reason to stick with the proper WRX wing if that's the case.

Its nothing to do with the suspention. Look at your spoiler the front edge slops back. In a propper race car spoiler it would be sloping the other way. Either im seeing things and its flat as a pancake or it is actuly sloping it cant be making any meeningfull downforce. They do look good tho
Yours might slope back, mine doesn't and I've not seen one that does. Why would Subaru fit a downforce wing that actually had lift?
