I can't help thinking the current numbers for this meet are more down to the notion of this being the last Pub gathering of it's kind for a while. (that and the original puppy placeholder that was on page one.)
If this had been a 'regular' September gathering, I'm not sure we would have had the same response...maybe that's the key going forward- 'less is more.'
Making these meets more of a special event encourages people to find the time to attend. I think when it's a guaranteed monthly meet, more people are prone to shrugging them off with the mindset that 'there's always next month'.
Who knows.
But the weather is set to be nice on Saturday *fingers crossed* and we are getting quite a list together.
In fact, we are on our way to hitting the 20 mark at this rate.
Which leads me to my next question- Will we be adding YOUR name onto the list Frayz?
(I know the car isn't exactly in a position to attend but I'm sure you have another means to get here)
Wha'dya say?
1. Frizzle-Dee
2. Stealthbomber
3. DantheMan
4. Kickboxerjay
5. JohnD
6. Luckystrike
7. Scoobysmeet
8. Rallysl4g (tbc)
9. Lillyart14
10. bazzy87
11. AdamJM
12. Rab555
13. deliverydriver69
14. trotters1
15. JWalle (tbc)
16. Knotty
17. Barry Bugeye
18. LoganS (tbc)
19. stuart148

I'll be amazed if 10 cars turn up tbh, unless the people above are usually guarantee's. There's always loads of sign-up's for various meets and then hardly anyone turns up...

It must seem a little disheartening seeing as you're new to the scene, but it has been known to fluctuate like this in the past and it always tends to rally once the weather turns nice again.
To be fair, I expect a couple of people to drop out on the day but the majority of names on the list are those who tend to stay true to their word.
I don't think 10+ cars is an unrealistic expectation. Sometimes we've had a list with only half a dozen names and then 15-20 cars have turned up. A lot depends on the weather on the day.
Think positive.
...And Frayz, I'm taking that as a 'definitely' so you're going on the list. See you there!

Yep, I'm up early to give the girl a bath and find a carwash that has a hoover to clean the crap out the back...
Weather looks nice too. Dry, clear and around 15-18*C

Fantastic meet today guys,
So awesome to see everyone there today and to meet some new people.
I hope you all had a good time. I'm not sure if I'd be the most suitable candidate to run the club in its entirety- After all, a performance car club headed up by the only member who doesn't -currently- drive a performance car would be pretty laughable. That said, I am happy to help out where I can and if that means posting the odd thread from time to time then that's fine by me.
I've said it before and I'll say it again- I enjoy these meets and would hate to see them end so I'm happy to do all I can to keep them going just as long as everyone else feels the same.
If today has proven anything, it's that there is hope yet for these meets.
I would once again like to express my sincere thanks to Paul and his family for allowing us to hold these gatherings at his family's pub and to Rob for the flyers every month. And a thank you to all of you for taking the time to join us all today.
Next week I will be posting up a poll thread with a few suggestions for how we can approach these gatherings in the future. Please keep your eyes peeled for it and answer when you can. It will help us to plan ahead for 2016.
In the meantime, I have a few pictures from today -
"Come on everyone, look like you're enjoying yourselves"

No one said it a performance car club. It's an enthusiasts club for a particular marque.
I too am open mouthed as to the influx of new faces aswell as old time faces this month. Hopefully we can progress to future meets in the same manner and I can get around to having a chat with everyone.
*The god Rays were actually for my car but he parked that bloody mini in front of it and stole the glory

Even though I turned up fashionably late (by over an hour!) it was good to see such a big turnout. Some nice and varied cars on display too, and good to put names to faces...
Till the next time
