Less people on Snet? Where is fat-thomas?!?!

Hi All,
I've been a member here for 4 years, took a break for the last year, and now i'm back in another Scooby, so back on Snet!
Is it me, or is there less people on Snet then there has been in the past 4 years?
Seems to be less threads, less banter, less fun!
Also, Where is Fat-Thomas?!?!?! I miss his wit and sense of humor!!!

And as if by magic one of tubbs pathetic clagnuts turns up to lower the tone, sad thing is you're a reasonably intelligent bloke yet you feel the need to hang off the **** of idiots and make posts like that.
Well done, I'm sure your mentor would be proud of you.

The community feel is pretty much non existent on snet now, most of the decent fellas have moved on to other marques, dont post anymore or post elsewhere. I barely post myself now and at some point will probably stop posting completely too

Love them or most people hated them but they were the masters of scoobynet who could get ten pagers with their rantings have all disspaeared
They made scoobynet fun
We don't get any dump valves threads any more 2 years ago wE used to get them weekly Never seen them for months and were always good for a five pager
I've been in for nearly 15 years now and have witnessed the scooby scene dying
After the 09 modles and the 2.5 engines going pop look at the hundreds of pages of engine problems who is honestly going to buy another Subaru again ?
There is a handful of new shaped STi on the road which are a great car but memories are long ( mine included ) and would you want to pay 30k for a car with a three year warrenty and wonder if the engine will fail ?
The whole network is disapearing to just some hard core people left
I ran the NBO for 11 years and got 300-400 cars at every show and people lived for that show
When CS made me resign they have had 100-120 at the last two shows Which shows the ownership and enthususm is going down Fast
The club scene is failing
TTS had disappeared ( we used to get 60 cars turn up at the monthly meetings
CS has 5/6 members left
Darlington club dissapeared
dumfries club disspaeared
NESF have very few members turn up at meetings
That just the clubs that were in my area
We have bucked the trend at B-SPOC woth 18/25 cars turning up at our meetings as my friend martin decided diversification is the future with 40 % subaru owners in the club and the rest a mixture if sports and performance cars as people's cars change but they still want to be part of a club we are a very successful club
There is no runs left anymore Rob and myself could get 30/50 cars on the cumbrian runs
Now there is none or meetings
Forums
There is only a few left
Scottish scoobs is busy
Lads forum is still active
All the others I visited have just 2/3 posts a week if your lucky
Facebook has killed most forums as you can easliy access them from your smart phone and post photos with just one click as witnessed by the very active north east Subaru owners club pages with 20/30 posts per day with car pictures which makes a very good page and instant messages
There is probably nothing left to talk about Subaru wise
Like when your married for 20 years you run put of things to talk about
Modifications have all been done and discussed
There is nothing To aim for in the future like saving up for a new Sti or replacement car as the 09 + are ticking time bombs unless forged
No club structure left
People have moved on to expensive performance cars or had families and got sensible cars
The chav element has ruined Subaru symbolised by the drug dealer Callum on coronation street and cars are worth more in bits then complete
So grim reading for the scene but there is a few hardcore ones left
Fighting the rust in their classics and renovating and preserving them
Every show I take my Greenwagon people come up and talk about them and talk about the past .
They will go up in value like the cosworths /RS as collectors cars of the future as they get rare I only ever see a handful on the roads now and they tend to be weekend cars
I'm afraid this forum like the scene is dying but it was great in its hayday

pretty much spot on mate.
I have been on here long enough to have seen all the comings and goings and like a lot of people don't post as much. Some of it down to not wanting to get involved on a site that just spent its time arguing with itself
or
Moved onto other sites for advice.
I still come on here as I have a scooby and need help every now and then but would i still join in if I didn't ? Years ago I would have, but now mmmm
Post count has slowed as well but I am about to hit a round number soon

Why has the subaru community on here died........ ^^^^^^^^^^^^
Need I say more.
When owners of a marque I love spell the word 'serious' like the helmet above has then I know it's time to move on from here.....

I think he meant to spell it like that

It's a sad fact that posts on SNET now rarely centre around the car/brand, unless it's a 'What's my car worth' query.
It's much more likely you'll find pages of discussion about people, minor personal injuries, politics, or animals.
Apart from that, SNETlife is good-ish

I did meet Dan once, when him and Emma attended Japfest at Castle Combe.......and very nice people they were too
Dan like most other enthusiasts is very passionate about his car and its just he vocals what most are afraid to say. Sometimes he did go over aboard with things he said but he hated the way the marquee was going and incidentally so did I hence why I jumped ship after 8 different models of Impreza and bought an Evo........Stickers, fake roof vents, STI stickers on WRX's, gash bodykits painted white with pink polka dots, people have a right to do what they want to their car and "genuine" enthusiasts have a right to mock them when they do it!
Have you seen his car? Probably not, its mint!....Ok, Its no Blobeye Wagon with a 5 speed box, PPP and AP brakes like your own car its just a common of garden blue Blob STI with carlos fantango wheels, pimped blue interior, inferior 6 speed box and rock hard suspension..................No wait, that's just in your head!
.....anyway, I still believe Facebook has killed Scoobynet but if it makes you feel better, blame Dan Mayes

.............I have no alliance to Dan that's all in you head............Like all your tall stories, how's your 2.1 stroker coming along?

What he said. These tools have no interest in helping fellow owners with what they think are lesser models like sports, wrx and poverty spec uk sti models as they call them. But these keyboard warriors have little help to offer as they know very little and wouldnt know a spanner(unless looked in mirror) from a hammer. As ive said some of the good members still here and will help you.

I come on here every single day atleast once a day, I only read and do t post very often because I usually don't know the answer to most people's questions, I'm abit if a noob when it comes to knowing about cars, I'm a computer geek :-/
If anyone would like to send me some private messages with links to other Subaru sites so I can read/post I'd be very grateful
Thanks

You'd be surprised how much the supposed "keyboard warriors" actually know....

Oskar you're a good fella but even I take offence to you using the term "paki" and I'm pretty easy going compared to some, so I would appreciate it if you did not use the term

The cars are getting old, there's a lot less of them and a lot of the members on here are not in their 20s any more.
Less cars, less people owning them - simple really.
I could count on 1 hand the number of different classics I've seen on the road in the last 6 months.

Childish? why......Because myself and MANY others don't believe a word that comes out of your mouth....That's right Many, I speak to a lot of people from this board and everyone is of the same opinion.

Some of us have lived a life less ordinary, it comes as no surprise to me that the likes of you and your compadres would find it difficult to believe that someone may have done some things differently to you, I know who I am, what I am and the things I have done are way beyond the comprehension of sheeple like yourself, it's been that way all my life so it's nothing new.
I never had a group that I identified with, I'm half black and half white, I never fitted in either group, so I made my own way.
You should try it sometime, you might actually become your own man, think for yourself and not require the approval of others that aren't either to make you think you are one.
But hey I won't hold my breath.
