Same here. Sounds like you can actually turn the car off with that system. Nice little anti-theft device.

Anyway, about this garage. As many others have said, contact the police. You have to do something. As for the garage turning around and saying they're going to 'sort it out', what are they going to offer you as a 'sorry my staff are bellend's'? A free service? Doubt you'd want to go back there personally, I know I wouldn't for all the tea in China!

I don't blame the garage 100% because they did not ask the prat to do it but think of they are going to take in cars like mine then they need to in force a way of checking what they are doing in it...

But yes your right it will take me a bit of time to trust them

Here`s the thing; an employee has ragged your car, at speeds high enough to lose your licence (and possibly before it was warm ), the service manager fobbed you off when you complained, and now the nice owner is on the case for you; morally and legally, the management are responsible for their employees behaviour, and generally when you get a problem like this, that the management have done nothing about, the attitude is led from the top downwards. This is a matter for the police, because of where it was done, and what could happen to your reputation and your motor`s health.

What make is it? Sounds good?

By the way if you had engine cut, how come you didn't cut it when it was being thrashed about?

Default Information

Hi all

I wanted to say thank you to you all for your input, be it positive or negative for the incident that occurred a few days ago. I appreciate all that you say and share all of this on board and want to develop my company and myself in a better manner to improve the services for all concerned.

For the record:
Investigations for this situation are both sensitive and private. I would ask that as a normal set of individuals you respect both the privacy of the involved and the company as a whole. The UK has a stringent set of rules to adhere to and they must be obeyed.

I was not in the car and not was I aware of it happening until it was thankfully posted. I responded within a few minutes and have spent the whole day conducting myself and my investigations with both dignity and respect of all concerned. To say otherwise is indeed Liable as it is simply not true.

I have been in regular contact with the customer and have kept him appraised of all the situations as they have occurred. I never once even suggested that a 71mph test in a 30 zone was anything short of a travesty and a blatant disregard of trust for the customer and against myself. Again, to say so is simply not true, and is again liable.

I have never asked to have anything taken down (regardless of the facts or the occasional statement of inaccuracy) and nor would I because I believe in integrity, respect and all the other stuff that I wrote when I started my company.

Please I ask, that respect and care be given to (frankly) one of your own people, as most of my employees actually are on this site and they deserve a modicum of respect and understanding until this process has finished.

Again, I thank all the bloggers etc and invite anyone to text or call me any time, I have posted my details before and will below again.

Regards

Apparently it has happened a few times at Lisburn test centre, read it on a few forums that happens there. I asked him was there something wrong and he said the car was mint? I was a bit pissed but I think they have the right to do a test drive if they suspect something, not to rag the **** of the sporty cars though.

I work just beside it, hence temperature gauge not even 1/4 way up when I got out.

Something is amiss with this 'story'.

The first thing I would have done if this was me would be to go directly
to the police with the footage.

Why hasn't the op done this?

Because I don't want to as I want the person to learn what they have done is wrong, going to the police is not going to do that.

Invest in a car cam is a must for everyone

You really think that's the best thing?

So what if he does it again but next time runs someone down?

If you haven't reported it you are a fool.

Edit: Are you honestly saying that a full grown man and a professional mechanic didnt know that driving a customers car at 70mph in a 30mph zone didn't know it was wrong??

Errr, probably charge the driver with dangerous driving for one, and with footage will get a conviction with at the least a hefty fine.

Who is to say he won't do it again or come to that hasn't done it before?

Like I said, you are a fool if you don't report it and a bigger one if you take your car back there again, but hey that's your choice of course.

The reply post from the garage is just to poke a legal stick at everyone.

This would be a totally different thread if the driver had mowed someone down whilst driving at over 70mph in a built up area at 10am in the morning..

..........oh and, was the misfire diagnosed?

As for the trying to play the libel card.

All the OP has done is make a statement of fact, with evidence to back it up, that's not libel, to suggest otherwise is clutching at straws and trying to employ scare tactics, which IMO does nothing to further the case of the dealer.

you all seem to forget disciplinary actions are private and confidential.

Give them a chance to sort it.

Seems like the op has had problems before of a similar nature, check
the last post in this thread

I will say again, something is amiss here.
