Small update, the crank etc was tightened too much so de thread from the block. Now we need to rethread and attach the cam belt to see where we are. Hand turned every pulley and cog and was ok, didn't feel rough or stiff so could have been lucky. As usual will update.

I am currently putting wording together to send to the original mechanic to claim the money back through him as I've had an independent report which states this issue was his fault and wouldn't have happened if fitted correctly.

Thank pal, very stressful time at the minute but fingers crossed once the new cam belt is fitted it'll be up and running again!

I phoned the garage seconds before checking here and the engineer to re thread hasn't been out yet so no update as of yet.

No real update, the engineer came out and said it can e helicoiled but they don't have the size in stock so ordering it in, coming Tuesday. Will know more then!

Great news today, got a phone call and the new cambelt and pulleys fixed the issue!!

Just make sure you haven't gained a lifter/tappet noise.

Difficult to explain but with a cylinder head on the bench and it's easy to show.

Picked up my car and its running perfectly! So happy to have her back! Now I know the cambelt is fitted correctly!
