A bit of advice.

All I will say is listen to what the real old hands tell you like Banny on this thread, the people what have been on here a few years and are mainly basing recommendations on reputation.

We have been there and round the block several times we have seen builders come and go we have seen with our own eyes horrific builds and sometimes average builds from well respected builders. And sometimes the opposite, people that have build blinding good engines.

I will leave it at that

I know Edsel and what he does for a living and he also knows what he is talking about from a technical perspective

I went to Alan and Martyn for my 2.1 about 3/4 years ago now. Went there with a plan - a reliable/everyday useable 450 ish - and they delivered. Great support post-build too - always quick to reply. Had some running issues a few months back and drove from Newcastle to Plymouth to get it sorted, which speaks volumes. They sorted the issue (a broken intercooler pipe bracket which was causing false knock readings etc etc) within minutes and sorted the car out. They do it all on-site, which gives real peace of mind.

Good luck with whoever you go for, but it would be ET for me.

I've been thinking about a 500+ 2.35 build recently, and I'd be back there in a shot.

Hi Banny

I've very good experience with Neil@Slowboy racing and he done for us always best job or he helped us alot when we are been in trouble like with Subaru or Honda,he always offered us help

Our second project has been pain in **** as many people know,we are been in financial difficulties and due this we are broke wagon for parts or due this we are wanted to sell wagon, when we are started our 2,35 project everything started to gain strange traction in direction which we didn't expected and really if I know I wouldn't never go with 2,35L,but regarding the his workmanship I'm rating him very highly,he always take care about the our car as his own car

First project has been again,we are changed so many times our plans and at the end everything has been down to conversion from auto to manual which has been pain,I've asked many people if they can do that and everybody hasn't been prepared to do so and Neil has been ready to do so for us

If I would choose Neil again to build my engine or build my project, yes without the questions,I would choose Neil again

Hope this helps

Thanks,Jura

maybe a silly question, but why do you have your induction kit angled that way? is that the side vent in the bonnet?

Another vote here for the guys down at Enginetuner
They built and fitted my 2.1 along with doing a lot of other little bits and were very helpful along the way.
Always there with help and knowledge over the phone too.

Never had any work done at ET but both martyn and Alan have been great in helping with questions, querys etc and Alan went out of his way to help diagnose my clutch issue.

Sure he would be happy for you to call for ideas and indicative costs. Save you looking the number is 01926 403889

+1 for TDR currently having a 2.1 forged build done by Mark, great advice and support with it, to be fitted in next 3 weeks
