Boost profiles for both.

As you can clearly see there isn't that much in it in terms of spool but the Precison makes a chunk more power and at less boost too.

These were both running on straight pump fuel, I reckon that the Precision on meth at 2 bar could potentially see 550hp.

That 42 is making 260hp at 4k as apposed to precision is making about 210hp.
Suppose it's a slight trade off for more power.
What bar was the 42 at on pump fuel to make 440ish?. I'd say with meth the 42 would easily make 470+ on that set up.

I run a sc42 twin scroll on a v3 2.0
Drives really well. Not been on the rollers but it's quick
And sounds amazing!

I'm running a 6 speed Jdm box and ratios feel short so don't feel too much lag.
On a 5th gear pull I'm hitting 1bar @3800rpm and 1.72bar @ 4500rpm(overboosting a little there)
3rd and 4th gear pulls hitting 1bar a little later @4300rpm and full boost 1.65bar @5Kish holding all the way to redline.
Im sure with a good pro mapper would have it spooling a bit faster tho.

It was spooling even later when I first got the car.
It should be running a 3 port BCS really so when I get rid of the 2 port and fit the rest of my gauges,so I can start a proper tune I should have no problem getting it to spool a bit earlier.

I say again J you're comparing apples with oranges.

Far from laggy these turbos are in fact very responsive, where yours gains is the ubber expensive Killer B headers you have.
Fitted with the same GT Spec headers, yours was in fact behind both of these turbos in terms of spool.
Also bare in mind it reqd meth to do over 500hp at that time.

But that was on the original s206 I believe? So no billet wheel etc, and only on a simtek, so the technology was older too. I'm not comparing my car with these, it was just a comment about they seem laggy to me. I think with a proper 2.1 avcs etc these would be brilliant to drive, I prefer response though. Hence why I have gone the route I did! Been able to use the power is more important than the headline figure.

We gained what 24hp from the billet wheel? So should have done 500 on pump fuel give or take originally. But that is speculation of course...

So out of curiosity how does the t36s you tested compare to these interms of spool etc?

I'm not a huge evo fan tidgy, whilst they are great cars and I've driven a fair few, they are just not for me. Although I could be tempted with a nice evo 7rs.
With regards the burble, the thing that killed the burble for me is these loonys with crazy loud exhausts that just over accentuate's the burble. I don't wanna be a part of that. Truth be told I would never change components to make it sound better, im not that arsed. However adding power and drivability is another thing

Joe we are seeing 40+hp gains in some parts of the rev range with the headers.

You would not regret it. Youdont loose the burble however, it is toned down a lot though

I can imaggine JayGsi having a proper tantrum in his bedroom over the amount of "headers" in this thread lol.

Martyn wasn't lying when he said ub3r expensive. Best part of 2k to buy when you include import taxes and vat etc, maybe 3.5k all fitted and complete? I did do a breakdown on here a while back when I had all the receipts out, but my memory is a bit hazy now, it was a fair while ago!

Some decent headers would defiantly help, not sure on what mine are but they don't look to be great
Best start saving up!

Would quality headers get my sc42 spooling earlier?

I made 454.4bhp on my sc46 billet , 2.0 ltr engine with supporting mods , loved it too , didn't find it laggy enough to ever notice or complain about !
Currently considering going back to it too ;-)

To get the most out of the twinscroll and to make it work properly you need avcs

Here's an interesting one.
Same car running the T36 and the Precision unit. It's a 2.1 litre Non AVCS equipped classic running on straight pump fuel.

Boost graphs show the real story, the T36 outspools the Precision by some margin yes, but look how much more boost it needs to run to get near it power wise.

BTW the tuning on that one is far from finished, poor intercooler and inadequate injectors stopped play for a minute.
