With regards to the AP 4 Pot kit, do you know if they would be ok with the Revolution Millennium alloys in either 18X7.5 5X100 ET48 WITH 215/35/18 OR 225/35/18
17X7.5 5X100 ET48 WITH 215/40/17 OR 225/40/17


I can't really afford either at the moment, but hopefully a few months into the new year I'd be looking at purchasing both.

 

Yes the AP caliper kits will fit under those , you'll get a 330mm kit under 17's , and a 355mm kit under 18's

 

My post wasn't so much as to say the Brembos are crap, it's more about the over all cost effectiveness of putting on a set of 10yr old brakes.

As outlined by Ian, if you shell out £500 then discover you need a refirb and helicoil, new discs and pads you'll be ball park AP money, then add the fact that you may well need to shell out another £3/500 on new wheels and tyres because they don't fit behind as many different wheels (even more so on a classic, So unless you are happy to have a set of early STI wheels you could possibly end up shelling out a fair few more quids than you would by just going for the 330mm CP 6600 kit like mine has.

Other thing to remember is you'll be doing circa 25/30k miles before you need new pads and 50/60k before new discs. I don't know what brembos are capable of, but if peoples experience of them on here is anything to go by you'll have needed 2x hellicoil and 2x refirb.

 

I'm a little out of touch as mine have been fitted for around eight years and have coped with over 4,000 (yes 4k) miles with no problems!
