Fortunately they have great temperaments in general but I wouldn't want to face a rabid one.

We'd have to pick him up and this is what happened to one poor bloke whose Maine Coon was spooked by a dog whilst on a leash!

Apologies, but.............
A) Never mind a Coonie, even I would have clawed a fashion victim who wears such a stupid t-shirt.
B) I'm afraid a cat that is prepared to be leashed isn't a cat 'cat', if you understand what I mean. I read on that link that you posted that Coonies are being aggrandised as more like dogs than cats. Fair enough, as the dog types are perhaps more orderly hence ready to be leashed. To me, my cat will scratch me all over if I even attempt to put him/her on a leash!
The moral of this script is that a cat needs to remain a cat. Independent, unleashed, glorious and content. Not servile to be leashed and needy- like a dog.
FAO cats: Be more cat, cats! Say 'No' to any leash!
PS: I know that Savannahs and Serval cats are taken out for a walk on a leash, but they're considered dangerous. I'm afraid I don't buy that Maine Coon will literally kill some joker in a silly t-shirt. Savannah or Serval might just total him. I will flatten that joker, meself!

How are you guys coping? Every single damn field is like a mud bath. This is what annoys me the most! The rain and the dark I can deal with as I take out a huge Fenix torch but its the mud that's really grinding me! Every walk my dog comes back literally soaked, he may as well have jumped in a lake and added to that is dirt and mud all in his fur which means I have to spend about 20 minutes every evening trying to get the mutt clean and dry! I wish I could stick to roads and pavements but that's no exercise so we have to go off-lead through fields.
Anyone else feeling the frustration? If we had a proper icy winter, the fields would be solid/frozen which would be a lot better but no, they're like bogs at the moment!

10 months old this Saturday
I literally spent 1.5 hours today cleaning the hallway because of the dog. I had been putting it off for a few days. Wiped all the walls down as dirty water marks were all splashed up them, cleaned all the skirting, door frames and mopped the floor. Honestly, no matter how long I spend towelling him, after a week it gradually builds up. Little marks every day.

Very cute, Lsh.
We had one totally biscuit coloured Alsatian and one your sort. One day, the biscuit coloured one visited the inside of our coal bunker and came out looking like the other one. We got really confused, and thought that we had a new voluntary arrival, but eventually we worked out what had happened.
