I also went German two years back as Audi were the only other people to offer 300+ bhp and AWD. (Without risk).

You've not googled 'Audi engine problems' then?

Luckily I went for the new 3.2 Supercharged one with a warranty and not the 2.0 one.

It has poxy flappy paddles and lookls like a Taxi, but I can park it in the train station and hardly anyone notices it.

I do have a 4x4 400bhp Evo engined hatchback for the weekend though. (Even if the badge on the back does say Proton )

Hi Phil

I've just checked and I've been on and off the board since I ordered my MY99 Classic in mid 1999. That's not far of 17 years

Had a few usernames mind you

Has your Classic been delivered yet ? That was about the peak of the waiting lists I went from Legacy Turbo to Impreza Sport in 98 because I couldn't wait...

Still remember walking into a dealer a year later and seeing a Blue Mica one and asking if the waiting list was still 9 months for a new one. "No sir, its a cancelled order if you are interested" Bye bye A4 Quattro !

I bought mine new around Jan 2000, from a dealer at the opposite end of the country because their waiting list was 'only' 3 months, rather than 6+ locally!

One or two names from the past on here. Got my original classic Scooby back in Jan 2001 - think it was a waiting time of about 2 weeks by then. Joined here sometime that year so I guess I'm coming up to 15 years on her now.

I bought my STi4 in 1998 - it was quicker to get a new one from Japan as a personal import than wait for a UK spec one

Still on my first one. 21k miles from new just 3 years old. It's only got 44k on it now.

What's left of it.

Bump,

20 Years for me next month on this user name. Although I haven't been on much in the last 10.

I still miss the early years and the sheer enjoyment everyone got from both owning and meeting owners of scoobie.
I have never had the same level of ownership experience anywhere else.

No scoobies in the current fleet sadly.

It all went a bit "max Power" as soon as they went under £10k in my opinion

I'm still here lurking after 11 years. My Spec D went to a new home only this month, so it feels weird not having a Scooby anymore. I must admit, I only see rough ones out now, often classics with kids driving, covered in stickers and a huge tailpipe.

Such a shame. The only one I have left is my 2007 WRC R/C 1:10 scale HPI car. That will outdrag a Tesla to 60mph!

And to think I'm reduced to a 2009 1.25l Fiesta for now...... So slow it hurts. Totally anonymous too.
