I doubt you'll be able to wire directly to the position 8 contact and get a reliable relay trigger. A physical CAL switch is a chain of series diodes with a pull up, so the difference between CAL 8 and CAL 7 will only be around 0.65V.

If Toucan-controlled, it's all done via CANbus on an AlcaTek and, usually, on a Syvecs too.

On a Syvecs you can have a spare output triggered on a CAL of your choosing - that could be used to trigger a relay, no problem at all.

You could create a custom CAL switch with 2 poles, using the second pole and contact 8 to directly either short the switch, or intercept the switch, as required.

The switch I use for CAL switches does not come in a 2 pole 8 or more way version though. But they do exist of course.

I just checked the latest Syvecs firmware, and gear cut now has a TPS validation parameter - so you can disable it if throttle is less than, say, 90%: that will sort most of the on-the-road annoyances IMO.

I knew there would be a way of doing it, its just figuring out what signals it is giving out and what its looking to receive back, once I have that sussed Im sure there is a way!

Thanks for your help.
