i sadly bothered to work it out about 3 months ago only £72.40 a month better off working so if made redundant i would actually be better off credit card payed off and gone, then just lose sky tv and no worse off,
sadly i cant just do what cameron did and jack it in as you cant claim, i left school at 15 now 50 and never been out of work or claimed, but if you jack you cant claim for 6months, so would need to save up 6months worth of bills money and that aint never gonna happen on £7.86 a hour and dont you think big buisness and the goverment know that

If the country is to stand on its own two feet and succeed, then it needs a massive reform of the benefits system.

I guess your work is not something you can do for yourself, self employed? Apart from the taxman's slice everything you earn is then yours. I can't imagine working for a boss but it takes a leap of faith to go it alone.

And that is half the problem with this country. It's become a nation lazy b@stard benefit Britain. Probably the same people that moan about immigration are sitting there on their ****, scratching their bolox claiming benefits because it either pays more, the same, or slightly less than if they worked. Also, a few of these people live in long term relationships, in two seperate social houses, so they can carry on claiming benefits, and screwing the country twice over.
If the country is to stand on its own two feet and succeed, then it needs a massive reform of the benefits system.

none of the above apply to me by the way,

same job 21 years 3 months
3 children
living in owned bungalow left by parents my father i never saw until i was about 9 as he worked so many hours to pay the mortage, as a bonus to the country he passed away before he could claim a pension
the way i see it now is he and i worked all our lives so i i was made redundant its not as if i /we haven't payed into the system unlike others

sadly not i am in a specialist sales role, which requires lots of training and product know how, but the wages just do not meet the experience shall we say
#3156
You can't take your skills elsewhere then? There's usually a way out if you try hard enough! Sorry to intrude by the way.

correct spot on and all the above mentioned is most of the reasons for our nations problems, no wonder farmers cant get people to work for 10quid a hour when they can get 12.50 a hour on benefits thats £500 devided by 40hours, but the daft lefties will have you believe its not a problem and not that common,

The government would like people like me to report people like that. We already live as a nation that can't trust politicians, would be even worse if we couldn't trust our friends either.

believe me i have tryed, i had a interview on the 6th of this month at a mitsi dealer (i know darkside and all ) sadly i came second to someone in the trade moving from another dealer, i could change roles in the same trade and do external sales role with company car and more money, but having a autistic child and a adhd child being away from home is a no no, unless i want my wife to be bold and suicidal
#3159
Warren and I had some sort of weird and slightly abusive bromance going on just before he left. I feel abandoned.

The point is, without access to the common market, we have far less to offer those wishing to make a deal than we would have with access to the common market. Also, trade deals aren't agreed over afternoon tea! They require years of negotiation with 1000's of civil servants involved in calculating the impact of each paragraph within the agreement and with each side returning to the table time after time giving and taking a little until both sides finally come to an agreement. Once an agreement is in place, it may still take years before any benefit is available - look at the Swiss/China deal where Switzerland have to wait 10 years to get any benefit!
Wanting to do a deal is the easy part that everyone agrees to! Doing the deal is another kettle of fish!

I don't think anyone ever said that nobody would want to do trade deals with us, and deals with Iceland and the Faeroe Islands doesn't exactly make us a global player

if that was ment to be funny it's in very poor taste in light of my sons problems. if i could earn enough to pay my/our own way then i would gladly,
how ever when you work for a company led by a greedy ******* who took £1916000 in shares then sold them and only paid 20% tax last year but didn't have enough to give his staff a decent payrise. you can take joy from the fact that the shares he now own's are only worth 62p each instead of £2.35 i have been watcing them drop all day with a ever increasing SMILE and please don't mention being made redundant i have allready worked it out i would be better off surfing the platform of life instead of being the wax on a surfboard

That greedy ****** nevertheless keeps you and many others in a job. Jobs need to be created - they don't appear out of nowhere. He's also now having to deal with the fall out of the referendum.
The reason he's your boss and earning more money than you is evident. I'm not being harsh, its a simple reality.

Sturgeons EU visit may not have borne any fruit, but it was never intended to. It was however a very cleaver piece of political maneuvering. Firstly, you have to understand the significance of the people at the very top in Brussels willing to meet with her. They certainly wouldn't have met with her equivalent from Catalonia. Firstly she is paving a way for Scotland to become an EU member if they split from the UK and secondly she is putting a lot of pressure on Westminster to remain in the EU or suffer the consequences of the breakup of the UK.
You can make all the fun you want about the little Krankie, what she did yesterday was extremely significant!

Now that's not strictly true is it... Your comments were dismissed because they weren't true and then you proceeded to post a link which only backed up that fact.

More positive news. Pragmatic and reasonable response from the French.

we aren't going to disappear into the sea
so I would worry too much about it - we won't see the effect for a few years (good or bad)

Boris is not standing for PM.
What an absolute clown. I'm gutted as I found him highly amusing.
The country has been well as truly shafted by a guy who now has no stomach for the mess he caused. Priceless.
Bit like my 3 year old being left to her own devices for too long. She doesn't clear up the mess she makes either!

I actually wanted to post the Fry & Laurie classic, but it's blocked on YT. Bloody BBC Worldwide!

One way of looking at it I suppose.
It will be seen as cowardly no matter what the reason.
Even if he lost, it's not as if it's the population voting for him, he should still have stood his ground. It's within the party and whoever ends up in the seat is going to have the premiership from hell for 2 years.
Maybe he's looking further ahead and runs for PM in the GE but that's a big gamble that the next 2 years aren't as painful as some expect and his name will be mud for far longer.
Lots of people wanting Crabb. He's a local lad to where live and comes across OK. Don't think he's got the negotiating skills that will be required going forward. I think he's getting his name out there for the GE.
So out of Gove and May, May has to be the least worst option.
