Same as calling someone a plonker? Or a wazock?
Sticks and stones, Martin. If you are going to get all het up about a made up name, there's little hope for you, you're worse than most lasses.
Ooooh, oooh, he used a rude word......listen to yourself.
Oh, and look up bigotry.

We've now seen the consequences of a failing currency, lack of cohesion to immigration/refugees, countries ignoring directives, member states unable to agree on policy. `

If you rewind back to when 'we' (you ancient folk) were asked to vote In/Out the first time, the consequences of joining were unknown.

In general I agree.
None of those points change the fact that you or I do not know what the consequences of leaving will be though.

Not some European super-state with all powers in Brussels, and where no-one but the UK follows the rules.

Saw the interview with Kinnock on the news, younger viewers won't remember , but he was almost useless Opposition leader in early nineties .
He's a LORD now ! having been Euro mp ( snouts at the trough) , I did like the way every soul they stopped in Valleys said they be voting OUT much his consternation And the huge Euro investments in Wales together with negligible immigration

Best of EU regeneration funding, the Joe Calzage Bridge!
Wow, you Welsh are easily pleased if that's what you call help.

I get the feeling that the IN campaigners just might get a shock at the level of hate for the EU in the working classes, engendered by having every stupid EU rule and regulation rammed down our throats by our own government.
Just might come back to bite them in the ***
But I still think that frightened women and the Scots will keep us in, or the government will say it's not binding, or the EU will tell us to vote again...or something.
Much as I want us out, I have zero confidence in us being allowed to go, no matter what.

Remember what happened with the EU constitution treaty when the French and Dutch public rejected it by referendum?
This:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty...Post-rejection
All subsequent countries holding a referendum (including the UK...which oddly was going be held with Tony Blair's backing.... no doubt mindful of a upcoming 2007 election ) had their referendum cancelled. As, well, without the French on board its kind of pointless.
So what did they do? They side stepped it all by just putting the changes into amendments of already existing agreements and treaties so no referendums were required.
If that's not proof of how underhand they are, where they do not operate within the public's interest of the member countries that voted "no" then I don't know what is.

Well, they may not...at first.
BUT: if we are out, then they can no longer run and hide saying it was the EU forced them to do it.
And the UK population CAN vote them out...unlike the mandarins of the EU

As for unelected, I don't recall appointing any of the cabinet members, or any of the hundreds of civil servants in Whitehall who make policy decisions every day that affect you and me.
Even if you could directly vote for the people who make the decisions you seem to hate so much,it would not make a jot of difference. Of course I accept that we wouldn't have to accept the laws from Brussels, but to think that it would be some law making utopia is disingenuous to say the least.
It's not like all nations not in the EU are shining examples of being masters of their own destiny has made the so great.........

Surely you realise that democracy, or at least what the western nations call democracy is an illusion? We get to choose, once every 5 years, a party who the majority of the country doesn't want to implement unpopular policies that divide the nation.

100% agree.
If the people who were calling for us to leave, were also calling for proper democracy in the UK, I'd join them and vote to leave too.

IF WE ARE NO LONGER PART OF THE EU, AND THEREFORE NO LONGER BOUND BY, OR TO, THEIR RULES, THERE WILL BE NOWHERE TO HIDE FOR OUR POLITICIANS ENFORCING STUPIDITY....STUFF THAT THE ELECTORATE HATES AND CAN SEE IS JUST RED TAPE ETC.
At present, our lot enforce everything that comes out of the EU, while hiding behind the "what can weeeeee do" question.
While other countries pick and choose...does it benefit us/our citizens? No? then ignore it.
We have a very pertinent case in point at this very moment: Germany and Italy have already given relief on energy bills to THEIR steel industries, without even asking the EU, and when the EU told them it was illegal, they simply said, "Oh, sorry, we didn't realise...too bad it's done now...".
meanwhile, our steel industry is on it's knees with stupid energy costs and green taxes, so OUR government, probably knowing what the answer would be, ASKED PERMISSION to do the same as Germany and Italy
Permission having been, inevitably, refused, they then threw up their arms in horror saying "Well we tried!".
they have hidden behind the bureaucrats in Brussels too long: time to stand up for US, the UK, and stop cow-towing to unelected gits that disobey their own rules with impunity...and get paid very handsomely for it.
Meanwhile, Scunthorpe's plate mill has gone, one of the coke ovens has gone and more to come: 900 jobs already in this area, plus about another 1000 tied to the works but not directly...contractors, suppliers, steel erectors, steel stockholders etc.
And Port Talbot? Same. Redcar has gone. And over 3000 jobs with it. The stainless manufacturers in Sheffield, for God's sake, the home of stainless steel: they are on their last legs.
Yet our b@stard government says unemployment is getting lower.......
Liars, thieves, dishonest b@stards, hiding behind unelected faceless Brussels Euro-crats.
Vote OUT OUT OUT!
