Bit incorrect regarding the manifold, up to 400bhp stick with a ported standard unequal beyond that go stainless steel equal or unequal. Fyi i am running an equal length at 600bhp

Turbotog i have no idea what intercooler it was but it was absolutely crap was seeing 65+ degrees on the dyno. I've now changed the core only to a 4" one from a performance motorsport shop which was recommended to me by my mapper.
Running external waste. Was basically creeping. angle isn't great so will be welding a new wastegate pipe with a a 44mm wastegate. Once done will be back for more mapping

Ah fair enough banny! I had read somewhere about achieving certain power levels, and a equal length being recommended to 400.. but I am struggling to find it atm - obviously they can though! although I'd doubt my particular one would be 600hp capable lol.
Do you know your exhaust port to mani size and up pipe size btw? Always good to know what others are running!
Well I'll leave the turbo alone for now as I can't get any actual information regarding power increases with the upgraded kit.. just saw it for £150 and thought it was worth checking out, as it could have potentially opened up some more power as it's the vf23 compressor housing that chokes the turbos output.. and it states it fits the 22 too so thought it may increase the amount of boost I could potentially run.. I'll keep the money and save it towards future plans!

Just thought I'd leave an update about the mambatek compressor wheel and housing as I had a reply from Eiji at mambatek saying this upgrade can support upto 30 psi (more than I would need - I'd like 22psi or so at most atm) And they also do the kits for a lot of other vf series turbos (you'd have to check psi level for each application)
Hope this may be useful for someone at some point!

Give the housing a try and see how you get on?

Hi guys sorry if I've revived an old thread but I did a Google search and this was first result plus it seems full of some interesting info.

So I have an 02 bug wagon.. it's uk 2litre wrx.

So right now it's running a vf35 turbo (vf34?) And pink injectors. Sadly the engine is on it's way out even tho head gasket just been done. So I'm gonna pull it for a full check and refresh and going to get it forged internals.
I've been thru the "get an sti" chat.. and I can't afford to sell this car and lose a wedge.. besides I really like it and it's very tidy overall

So whilst I'm pulling the engine I'm likely gonna stuff a link g4 up it's butt and also a turbo upgrade.

I found this mamba turbo.. gt3071r.. it's internal wastegate which I prefer as I don't want to faff on with screamers or plumb back and an external wastegate. I don't want to ring the turbos neck either with sensible boost maybe 1.4 bar tops.

Mamba gt3071r with internal wastegate for subaru

So basically I'm just wondering what ppls thoughts are really? Am I mad? Or would this turbo be decent and responsive on a 2litre?

Cheers and sorry for the long posts (Im old I do that a lot)
