They are a bit more intelligent to be fair.
It got very bitchy after theach camera footage appeared of the speeding with cold engine.

[QUOTE=banny sti;11847920]On the whole the MLR is a much more serious and united forum but it also has its fair share of "look down at their nose at us lowly scoob owners" tossers too, 22B is a decent a forum but very cliquey and you can be alienated very quickly.[/QUOTE

Years ago the mlr had 5k members online at once those days are gone the big money boys have moved on
We're more similar than they care to realise
The prestige big money expensive Evos can be bought for nothing these days by anyone

You're wrong.
I sold my impreza last year and have been looking at Evos among other cars to replace it.

Evos on the whole are worth much more money generally much better condition and don't suffer stick on tat etc that Impreza's do.

Yes which is a very old car and 6k considering its age is very good.

9s are around 15k.

Tommi maks are fetching very good money too.

You obviously have an issue with Evos is it because you bought that horrendous hatch thing and have suddenly realised you could have had an evo which is a far better quality car and class of owner???

And before you ask yes I have had Evos in the past and been an MLR member for years

Out of the box and up to about 420bhp yes they are superior to any impreza, as they tune far easier. Beyond that no difference pick your poison and **** your money away modding them and trying to keep them from breaking.

Subarus have w4nk engines as standard and the evo have w4nk drivetrain standard, so it comes roundabouts in terms of cost. As for better class of owner, not from my experience on the road. Evo owner spots subaru (of course works the other way) right im going to show this chav mobile a proper car, face like a slapped *** when he gets shown my tail lights and not even the courtesy of a thumbs up

I don't mean on the road.
I mean as general people having been an evo owner and going to shows with then the cars are generally excellent with proper mods and very clean.

On the other hand you go on impreza stands and you have sh1tters covered in stickers with scooby do stuffed toys in the seat stinking of da weed.

I do know a few impreza owners are sensible and buy and mod excellent cars but sadly they are few and far between and grossly outweighed by the sioc/you scoob types.

The sad thing is after owning both I prefer the subaru.

Definitely agree with you there regarding the attitudes at shows, evo owners are willing to show you round the cars and speak to you about them. Rather the types you mention that just give you dirties with the Imprezas

Cant we all just get along

I think its time we all accepted that many of the cars we all liked / admired/ want and own are now in the price range where for 6 months to a year complete tools can buy, badly mod and rag to death, then move on to the next.

Civic / integra
Fiesta / Focus ST
mx 5
scooby
evo
M3 and 5
S3 and S4
Skylines
S14/15s

to name but a few. Its the attitude of the person rather than the car.

You boys need to get along to one of the mlr 22b sprints. There's no bitching between the owners of either manufacturer. Just good banter and competition

Before I bought my Hawk Spec C, I was looking at Evo 6s and 8s as I wanted to scratch that itch. Very, very hard to find something at a sensible price that was rust free underneath and not stellar mileage. The tin worm seems to have claimed a disproportionately large number of older Evos

6k is not wrx money and still a lot for an old car.
As for technology moves on it has in the Evo's but the impreza running gear is the same apart from 2008 on they managed to make the engines worse in the UK.

An impreza can be had for 1500 .

The 6 is dated now but the 9 and 10 still look very good and alongside the blob and hawk are my favourite looking cars

Are you sure its moved on in the evos? Correct me if I am wrong but the S-AYC ran all the way to 10, I dont remember them adding anything once they peaked with the 5-6 running gear bar adding ACD from the 7 in 2001 (similar to DCCD available from 97).

Subaru were first to introduce AVCS in 2001 and this was not introduced on the evos until the 9 in 06 (lovely looking cars) with MIVEC. The big power evo boys all revert to RS diff setup which is basically the setup in the classic type r/ra.

4's,5's and 7's are the main culprit with the cranks.
Ayc £500 job and doesn't effect the car that much...which is why there's so many with the bulb pulled from the dash.
Like everything rot is the killer.
Good example 6 is 10k+
How much is the 2.5 rebuild when it finally ***** itself?..
I've had 20+ evos and probably 10+ subarus....each have there own faults but bar the spec c's and limited runs (mainly jdm imports with the 2.0ltr) the evo will command more £'s.
Both marques are jap scrap unless looked after.
Never saw the thread on the mlr , but if it was a battle with will I cannot read the sh1te he writes anyway as he's a ******* plank.

You can fix the mechanicals but the hatch will always look ****.

The 9 is a beautiful looking machine and the 10s are purposeful looking too.
