Before remapping would you not see about DPF removal, especially if it's giving bother.

I'm doing a good 1000 miles a month (at least) of motorway miles thus my 3.0l diesel.. but I'm an Impreza boy at heart so the potential for power is eating at me

I had a 3.0l diesel C-Class Mercedes, I had it Brabus chipped which took it from 231 to 285bhp, and from 450 to 525 ft/lbs, you really do FEEL the difference in the mid range. My MPG indicated improved also.

Go for it!

Admittedly different cars but I was concerned about this when I had my old BMW E92 330d remapped and the DPF removed. My dog was clogged though from other faults and un-salvageable.

A bit of smoke yeah but it was a good map so not loads like an old Leyland bus.

Went from 231/369 to approx 276/431 with just said DPF removal and a remap. Fcukin' awesome on the motorway

So today's the day, I'm hoping for a rolling road as part of my map .. I can't remember if they said it was included or not.

erm .. it's not night and day .. it certainly pulls harder .. let me drive it this week and come back to you ..

At first I thought they'd ruined my smooth gear change, but it was the drop because of the torque, even in the quick auto-shift it's noticeable on full pelt now.

Just remember that although the diesels make more engine torque their gearing is always taller and thr wheel torque is reduced through this, power obviously a calculation of torque vs engine speed, diesels not revving high, hence low power and taller gearing (to compensate for the lower engine revs).
Power always wins over torque
