c'mon ... am I the only lawyer? Or the only one prepared to admit it? (But I don't do consumer-type stuff so I'm afraid I can't help you with your disputes with, inter alia, insurers, dealers, tuners, landlords, police, wives, ex-wives, the Government...)

I used to be a Civil Servant, I used to have special clothes and tools for my job though which the company supplied, Black boots, brown and green trousers and Jacket and a black hat with a shiny badge on it, I also was given a strange coloured stick type thing that when you plugged a black box into it filled with 30 shiny metal things and pulled a small black lever it went BANG. but now I work for the HP Openview R&D dept doing infrastructure and test environment management, also soon to be a Prometric Administrator, amongst other things. Anybody out there do this sort of thing and want a new job? as we have two vacancies.

Contract Technical Author.
My mission (as with all TAs) is to write incredibly unclear 'instructions' for anything my employers produce - software, video recorders, nuclear power stations , weapons systems, whatever!
This is to frustrate you so much that you buy the new stuff when it comes out in the hope it's more intuitive than what you've already got!

Remember - place Tab A in Slot B!

I'm a Senior Support Engineer (ooh, fancy title for a Apple Macintosh Software Developer.
So what do I actually do, apart from sit on scoobynet all day long
Well, I provide excellent technical support for all our products (mainly network admin and desktop security) and I also provide internal support for our staff, and I look after our servers and test machines.
I also get let out of the office to go on-site and perform consultation, product install, product demo's, and product training.
think that's about it.

I'm a mechanical engineer . I look after the mechanical side of ten test cells in Product Development for the world's largest producer of commercial diesel engines (50 hp and above ) .I look after dyno's ,cooling towers.Heat exchangers, combustion air systems.fuel systems etc.etc.Last year sales of engines were 6.6 billion dollars ! However there's 10% redundicies at the moment being anounced in my area because the economy in the states is poor at the moment although our UK plant is doing well with a 19.4 % proft for the site. I wish a bank would give me that returm on my money !Hopefully I'll still have a job tomorrow. We'll see.I could be done out of a job because I've done a really good job and breakdown's are at an all time low.
Sorry. Ranting on. Just really worried. Don't want to lose the Scoob.
