400bhp turbo: Seeking the holy grail.

That's pretty impressive, would I be correct in saying that's a good map making power all the way to the red line? I haven't bothered paying attention to dyno graphs until now. Have you got a graph of it on pump fuel?
My ocd tells me bb billet turbo is the way forward then I see entry level turbos making this kind of power

I have always used SRR since i had my first remap of my scooby in early 2013.
Car made 328/330. For consistency i opted to stay at SRR as i added performance parts to the car, this helped me to see if the parts that were added were a good purchase or not.
I have no interest in debating whether or not SRR figures are inflated against another rolling road.
In 3 and half years i have been there 5 times to asses if my purchases have made the car better to drive, and more powerful
Each time i have left a happier man than before.
328/330 - 371/340 - 395/350 - 413/358 - 436/385

With various bolt on performance parts.

Very nice!
Looking at getting an SC38 in the near future, what supporting mods have you got to achieve this figure?
I am currently looking at getting 750cc injectors, RCM or Perrin induction kit, porting standard headers and getting a trick up pipe, but would like to stay with the top mount.

Engine is stock. With the stock TMIC, like you i did not want the hassle of fitting a FMIC, however i am looking at either the hyperflow or importing a Grimmspeed TMIC from the US.
Mods :
SC38
Aluminium 42mm core rad
Cobra 3" exhaust (full turbo back)
GGR K&N cone air filter CAI (about 1 inch longer than the RCM, i had one on my old Escort Cossie and liked the size, so fitted it again)
RCM GT spec headers and up-pipe (wrapped)
Mishimoto induction hose,
750cc injectors.
I have to be honest, when it was mapped with just the SC38, it was quite laggy as the power was all top end, made 371/340, i lost alot of low down torque.
Fitting the RCM headers, K&N air filter, Induction hose, brought the car back to life in terms of low down torque, which was comparable to the VF35, but having more top end power and torque.
I just had the injectors and methanol added because i was so near 400bhp.
But it superseded my expectations.
It really is exactly how i want the car to be now, loads of low down torque, but pulls to 7k rpm very easily.
Best regards Lee

But, i bet if you took your car to srr, you would make more seen as I believe yours was done at ET.
Its not old news about srr, back in the day, yorkshire lads would go as they knew theyd get decent results

Used SRR since around 08, never been optimistic in my opinion. The newer software for DD rollers (as used by rcm and area52) is conservative compared to the older software used by SRR and SC, hence you may get a slightly higher reading.
Example my old type r on area 52's dyno did 645bhp, slightly more tweaking and playing with the map by simon and it made 666bhp down at SRR, nothing optimistic about that on a SC billet GT35R.

What you've written/typed there is the exact reason for using a rolling road. It's about assessing improvements made to a car, so using the same dyno/operator makes a lot of sense.
There's always going to be arguments about readings from different dyno's, I guess that's just life
All just my opinion of course and doesn't really matter

If you're after a Grimmspeed TMIC I got mine through TarmacSportz in Derby, they aren't cheap but I'm really pleased with mine, also went with a Grimmspeed undertray/splitter . .yet to be fitted.
Hope this helps

However Chris and the lads at tarmac sportz are really helpful and the convenience of just paying them makes it worth while

Think they were £20-30 more expensive but I had been burnt before by buying US goods directly and them going missing during shipping and hassle of chasing things up and waiting. So I found that TarmacSportz could get hold of them, got quote, paid money said 10 day delivery time . .it all arrived on the 9th day with an email on the 8th day with despatch and tracking details. . .Couldn't be happier

What was it like when you installed the cooler ??
Any pics ??
Did you complete a before/after comparison in terms of hp/torque??
Like i say i am more than interested in purchasing one maybe in the new year if the £ strengthens a little

Thats a very good point, spending that amount of money for the item to go missing would be a right royal pain.

Will sort some pics out for a project thread, before and after wise . .I was running std 2.0 v6 STi lump with VF28 should be around 280bhp/260ftlb . .dropped in a 2.1 with v6 sti heads and SC46 with the Grimmspeed TMIC 1st mapping session after 1k mile run in was getting 384hp/330ftlb . . .will be getting mapped again when I hit 3k miles
