To be honest.. even if it was or wasn't picked up in an MOT the result would still be the same:
Excessive corrosion, change the arm. Does it matter if it happened 1 year after or 4 years after?
If they only inspected it for the 0.5 hours they claim, why did they not rust proof it as prescribed on the government website? - I am sure there would be evidence if they did do this? - Underseal or some such?

There weren't any changes to the narrower tracking of the Bugeye /Blobeye Wagons, so what fits the bugeye wagon will fit the Blobeye wagon suspension.

Yep I did the same with my 05 and it came up with them. But it clearly says "to 2002" and they look identical to the bugeye arms that's are on importcarparts.

If the classic arms fit then that above looks a good buy to me......but can't anyone confirm that they do fit and if they do but require a spacer then please confirm this.

Any good!, (the alloy wishbones seem to only fit widetrack saloons).

Also when I phoned them earlier on the fella on the phone told me that they never had any arms in stock that fit the blobeye wagon.
I'm confused.

[QUOTE=Wull;11903208]How did you find them? I found the L/H one via a google search but when I go to the website and search for wrx suspension via the boxes it only shows up with the bugeye arms.

Google in details, eg.. 2003 subaru wrx wagon front wishbone
click... Images... ,comes up top of page, (ICP), there is no part number just a ref number (icp 1024).
hope it works for you

I typed in Impreza wagon wrx wishbone and it showed up the same pics as you say, and they look indentical to the bugeye ones.......so I'm maybe thinking they are the bugeye ones. There's no year or anything mentioned which seems strange and when you go through all the options on the website those arms with the numbers are nowhere to be found.
I'll still phone though.

No bud, im pointing out that the garage that performed the recall work have not followed the DVSA requirement for repair.. If they just 'poked around' then thats hardly rectifying a fault?

I've ordered a pair of alloy arms from Matty B, he says they'll fit with no faffing about so hopefully that's the case and the motor will be back on the road sharpish.

I asked if he had any arms that would fit my blobeye wrx wagon and he replied yep alloy ones.
I then mentioned all the shenanigans about what ones apparently fit and don't fit and he assures me that they do and that others have fitted them.
so whether they're newage arms or classic arms I don't know. But I'll soon find out if they fit or not.

I wonder if he'll send you the aluminium arm newage drop links as well?
If you continue to run the 20mm narrower (than saloon) wagon bar, there is a future possibility, that you may snap a drop link, due to the increased inward angle they will be running at.
If they're classic aluminium arms? You'll need hardened washers (as spacers) to take up the slack on the shorter classic bush. Or, rather than use spacers, change the shorter classic bush to the newage version.

See I had been made aware of this hence why I asked. Ffs!!!!
Anyway, I'm guessing the arm on the left is the std arm that's fitted to my wagon and the arm on the right is the newage alloy arm that's fitted to saloons?????
So what can I swap out to make it a better fit? Just the d/links or both the d/links and arb that fit the saloon????
What a ****ing pain, what ****s me off is....there's a recall for these ****ey pishy arms and when it comes to the wagons you can't get upgraded alloy arms that properly fit without hassle, it's like a jigsaw puzzle ffs.

The aluminium arm on the right is a classic arm - use your newage wagon bar.
An aluminium newage arm will have the correct length bush, but wider track - a front newage saloon bar, will give a better angle on the drop links.
Either way, you'll need newage, aluminium arm, drop links.

That's the motor back on the go, thank ****!
Alloy lower arms fitted, drop links and arb. My mates garage could only set the tracking so I'll need to book the car in for a geometry set up as the front wheels are slightly / \ now......nothing drastic though.
