I decided to take the plunge and get a scoob and it's without a doubt the best car decision I ever made. Gone are the days of thinking what I'm going to get next to better my current car because I don't want anything else.

2000 P1, owned for 3 months, every time out in it is a blast.

Wanted an Aston since i was 15 MRDATA, 20 years, so went for a drive in a 7 a week after getting first sub (like to plan ahead) in january. It my be beautiful but the sub is THE car for me, at a push you could force yourself to have both just for the motorway pose in the 7

Talking

Yesterday, walking back from lunch, I passed it while there were 3 guys looking at it, commenting on it, pointing at it... Basically, drooling all over it. And it's "just" a Sports Wagon for C****'s sake. It's suposed to be discrete !!! I just couldn't help the grin on my face (And I was really trying not to look foolish!).

Yep I love my MY00 Scooby - Bought it from Holland 8 months ago and within 2 months it had a full exhaust system, £000's of ICE and oh yes the popular superchip. Where is my 1 year warranty, well who cares I simply love the little beastie.
Thanks for posting this thread it makes a difference form all those "I hate the Scooby" and "I always obey the speed limit threads"

well, flame suit is on, but here goes....
has anyone said the impreza is a bad car??
NO,THEY HAVENT!!
what a small amount of people have commented upon, myself included, is that we are or have experienced unacceptable problems with the my00. i still love our my95.its superchipped and outrageous! i cannot fault it.its better built and has more charisma than the my00 we had. and thats my point...it was the my00 i had a gripe with, thats all. not my95, 96 , 97 etc etc, sti's, wrx's, dutch imports etc etc. JUST UK MY00 FOR ***** SAKE!!!!!
if you have no probs with your my00, great , im happy for you. i did, and entitled to my opinion, just as you are yours.
i have never set out to upset scooby owners, i still am one, so enjoy your car, whatever it is, and rejoice in the fact that the scooby is a fantastic affordable car...just dont get a my00

I've had my DBM 99 for about 2 months now and I'm still grinning every time I get in it. And that's on the way to work as well . I never used to get in early but now I can't wait to hop in the motor.

One thing I notice about the replies to this post is that I've seen none of the normal people who post (apart from PTMW - bless!). Quite a breath of fresh air !

Spudgun, so you got a bad example, That is terrible and IM should sort it out. Do you really think that all MY00 are the same?

Well mine isn't and I feel it's time to take a stand. It's bloody brilliant. Sorry to dissapoint you. I must remember my first real car though an x reg Astra years ago. Brilliant, never broke down, well a couple of times but so what, 1200 pushrod engine...great car..if only they were built like that now....... Shame you feel as though you want to poison everyone's experience of the Impreza.

Bought MY99 3 days before last Christmas and its the most amazing car I have ever driven. I was thinking of buying a 911C4, M3 EVO or a 328 Touring, until my girlfriend suggested trying a Scoob. One test drive and I was hooked. Just had clutch and flywheel placed under warranty, so I am also pleased with my dealer.

The other bonus is all the mods you can make to make it even better!

cls, i'm glad yer happy, i really am. i take it your comments are aimed at bob and all the others who have found my00 ownership less than satisfactory, as well as me?or are we all trying to poison the experience all i say is that when the time comes to replace the my95 we have, i will not get a my00. i will buy an earlier car, much earlier, because i think theyre better built. i also have said before that i find uk subaru dealers useless, and not what theyre cracked up to be. late this year i will be in the market for an early 5 door in green, preferably an import. that way i get more power, for less dosh, and wont have to waste my time with overated, overpriced uk dealerships. the local japanese performance specialist near me is far superior to any doughnut ive had the misfortune to deal with at two different uk dealerships.
i'm not trying to poison anything. i'm sorry you dont like the fact that people have experienced problems with the particular model that you own. i'm sure its just me making it all up, just to cause mischief.after all, its great fun to sell a car within 6 months and loose 8k:
if the my00 is so good, then you have no worrys come the time you sell yours eh?lets just hope it is me that didnt rate the my00, and noone else eh?

Spudgun,
Perhaps poison was a bit harsh! ;D
I'm honestly sorry to hear that you lost so much money in such a short time. I imported my car and got a considerable saving on UK prices, perhaps I would take a different view otherwise cos I got mine for Ford Focus money. I tried to find a UK spec one but at the time the dealer couldn't help (secondhand, couldn't have afforded a new one) Nine months I waited and it was worth every second.
My car being an import will have fared badly no doubt come resale time knowing what dealers are like but no worse than my last mainstream car A Nissan Primera SRi which I really rated but lost money like a money losing thing . I love my MY00.
Never intended any offence though to your replies

I thought I would add a bit more to my previous mail as it do sound as if I am anti Subaru.
My last Subaru was an Impreza MY98 that was magic, no problems in the 18 months I had it. This was part ex for the hesitating bag of sh!te.
I have part ex my MY00 for a P1 that I have drove and is to my satisfaction. (It don’t hesitate ) I lost £5000 on the deal but had the car for 12 months. I am not the first to complain to my dealer about the MY00 and I know of others that have bought the P1 in exchange for a hesitating MY00. My dealer told me only today that he services a lot of MY00’s with hesitation problems and the owners don’t even know they have it. He tells me it’s there first Scooby and they know no better. Owners of previous year Scoob's who move onto the MY00 will notice the hesitation more easily. He still doesn’t understand why some MY00 Scoob’s don’t hesitate.
