Only because I never had any intention of paying 40k for one.
I think if you have been a previous owner of a now collectors Impreza, 22b P1 etc, we as previous owners don't see where these prices are coming from. I certainly wouldn't pay the current asking prices that owners are asking. Probably because I've been there and done it when the prices were reasonable and the cars were used. But back then, we didn't know how the car market was going to go. As said, these cars are looked upon as investments now. Not weekend toys as they were back in the day when I had mine.
Well guys only right I keep yous updated.. have decided against this... came down to price in the end... I was maybe after too much of a deal.. anyway the search continues...
Thanks for the update. Sounded a nice example. Hope you don't regret your decision, but at the end of the day, the deal had to be right for both of you.
Good luck with your search.
Now this P1 I can believe is worth 20k. It's immaculate. It would be my number 1 choice if it was for sale without a doubt.
This is the one... I know Simon the owner as i worked with him for a couple of years over in Algeria. Top man, and im sure the car will be top as well.
Great decision, that car has been very well cared for. Even more of a bonus if you already know the car and owner.
I'm sure you have bought the right car.
So guys... Final answer is....Ive decided to buy the P1. Collect it next month. 😁😎
Yes, Hartlepool_Jono had asked me if he could get first refusal if I ever decide to sell
So after a bit of jiggling about we came to a figure we were both happy with & I've thrown in some nice spares as well, only cos I know ye lol
the car is going to a good home and I'm sure if he wants to sell he'll offer it back to me first
I've been thinking of selling since June last year, the car had become a permanent fixture in my garage, only seeing daylight for a snow foam, dry and polish
This year apart from a great run out in April with the Best Forum in Scotland, Scottish Scoobies, the car has been for petrol and done 6 miles in nearly 4 months
Three years of 100% reliability in this P1, unbelievable driving car and it's been a pleasure to work on the car and get it to where it sits now, plenty more to do though to get it up to concourse condition
The new owner is a very lucky man credit to elgassi for keeping the P1 in pristine condition.

How you doing Pal, how's the car looking, you'll have to get some recent pictures up of that beast
Hi ...see yours is still going strong , just had the car back from Cotton.com in January with some more mods , still not 100% yet but getting close now .
Yes, It goes in a couple of weeks time, I wasn't using the car at all
Your P1 seems to look wider at the front end, must be the Morette's that give it that wider looking stance, you've done some great work on the car, keep on enjoying it, I'll maybe see it one day (2020 at 20th Anniversary meet in banbury lol)

Shame as yours look very well look after ...so what next ? ...one of the Ford's RS focus , that would be my bet on a sure fire investment , not one for the "meets" as I did not buy it for show
