But it's a valid point, the question is will he do what he says or is it all puffing his chest out?
We do know they have loaded cruise missiles onto ship, we know they are testing long range missiles and we know they are conducting nuke tests.
So at what point does the risk they pose go from a paper and words to a real risk?
But as i've said many times before, i can see NK being the old country that would, hes shown time and time again he acts like a petulant child.
But you could also argue should we do nothing when he's killing his own people through starvation and controlling them with iron rod?
NK the only democracy that has only one candidate and one party.

Anybody who has read reputable publications from organisations such as the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies will conclude countries like NK and Iran only want weapons for defensive purpose i.e. to stop larger countries bullying them and trying to topple them (and lets face it, the US and West in general have bullied certain countries for decades).
This is just posturing from both sides that will never go anywhere near war. This is one of the fewer times I am genuinely unworried about Trump.

People of Guam are US citizens by birth. It is a colony so of course most of their information will come from the US. It is not irrational for them to be worried, of course.
My only point is that people far, far, far more knowledgeable on these matters than myself and majority of people (see previous message by myself) give the experts and unbiased conclusions.

Should it be a case that people cannot have educated opinion to allay their fears and should simply fall into mass hysteria because certain news organizations say so?

It's what makes the world go round. Scared people making irrational decisions are the easiest people to market things to beacuse they'll buy anything that makes them feel safe. Just look at the way firearms sales boom in the states after any major shooting.

How funny is that! You slate one source of information as flawed then quote another to prove it. And unlike North Koreans the people of Guam have unlimited access to opinions and educated arguments from around the world, not just the USA.

I stated I based an opinion on very respected non-news organisations such as the two listed.

If NK are intending to strike Guam, surely they will have to over-fly Japan, which will view this as potentially as a risk to their security and may take action against NK or at least use their air defences to take down the missiles.
Whatever NK's objectives are, I don't think they are going to want to upset Japan in the process?

If NK dos launch towards guam that will kick it off.

Just seen this on the dreaded Farcebook.
I have no idea of it's veracity, but it says something (in German I believe) about American aggression. Make of it what you will.

I'm waiting for someone to claim that Kim Jong-un is in fact a CIA plant and Dennis Rodman is a CIA stooge passing instructions to Kim Jong-un from the American secret service.....

This is an extremely difficult situation. China and Russia want the status quo to remain, as without North Korea they've essentially got the US on their doorsteps, so they want this 'buffer' to remain in place.
On the other hand if NK start genuinely looking like they're going to start throwing nukes around then something has to be done, but the moment you launch cruise missiles or send in bombers the NK's will start shelling Seoul. NK have the upper hand and they know it. You'd have to launch a simultaneous strike to take out all their ICBM sites and as many as possible of the artillery pieces within range of Seoul.
The real losers are 25m North Koreans who are essentially being held hostage and living in poverty in their own country. Remove KJN and their economy would grow extremely quickly as it's starting from such a low baseline.

Alot of the countrys that things kick off in have had a long history of different countries meddling or helping one side of a civil war etc.
Korea for example, people keep saying the US invaded Korea and started the war, if they bothered to go looking they would find its a very different story,
Japan actually invaded Korea and wasn't until they lost WW2 that korea was then split between North supported by russia and south supported by the US, this was done by the UN, not by force. When the cold war escilated the north and south separated further apart politically.
The korean war was when the Russian/china backed north invaded south. Then the US stepped in in force and the war kicked off.
Technically that war has never ended and yet even though North started it people are still blaming the US.
While I'm not saying the US doesn't have anything to answer for, they certainly arn't the evil war mongers as described in alot of cases
