Role up !! Kames double header 27-28/7/02
#43
Information
OK guys, numbers are looking good, I can't however get a handle on spectator numbers so cafe won't be open, bring some nibbles for lunch.
Spactator laps are positively encouraged (especially with Tut, slows him down you see)
For the Autotest co drivers will be necessary so everyone can help each other out.
I'm bringing some party sized disposable barbies so just bring food and the all important 'carry oot'.
The ground at Kames is very hard, so if you are camping, bring something soft to sleep on (the grassy bits are not mud, they are mainy hardcore)
If you have an Impreza, it's possible to get fuel surge at the lefthander (Sunday) with half a tank, so make sure you tank up or bring some extra.
We'll be starting at 10, so if driving, if you could be there around 09:30 it would make life easier (I realise some of you are coming some distance, don't worry if you are a bit later)
Midge Cream !!!!!!!!!! for the evening

Dont know if John will post anything reference the turn out on the weekend, but I will.
Having organised events myself, I know the work that goes into it, but fortunately I have not had the numbers that said they would be along, and then never turned up.
I think that he probably ended up making a loss, so I hope that those that were so enthusiastic beforehand, then never made the effort, feel suitably guilty.
I also have no problem in stating that they were Scooby owners, as the Elise turnout was more than booked in for the event.

Tut, you are indeed quite right that some Scooby owners didn't make an appearance. This is quite disgraceful, given that they promised in advance they would turn up on the day.
We know exactly who they were, and their cards are now marked.
I think a public apology to John, and a donation for his efforts in arranging the day would be very much appreciated.

Sounds like you all had a good time, bit annoyed that I couldn't make it, but that's life.
I hope i've not been put on the sin list I did send John an E-Mail at least a couple of weeks ago to say that I couldn't come, and I also asked Neil to tell him in person the Saturday b4 last.

Did make it down on Saturday and had told John in advance that I would not make it onto track.
Was fully prepared to stay over with full camping gear still in the back of the wagon after our trip up north.
Diane, however, felt out of place as the only girl camping, and quite rightly I respected her views and we went back up the road.
I also gave John my reasons in person, for not venturing onto track. I have spent a good bit of money on my car, and don't have the disposable income some have, to throw their cars round the circuit no matter what condition they are in.
I will give it a go as soon as I feel happy that my suspension set-up is 100% and not liable to throw me backwards into the tyres(after slipping on oil!!!)
