Well, ****! One thing I don't need is more restriction. Will be running feline free but 2.5" and aiming for a good bit north of 400hp. I may just give it a go anyway and see how it does.

You won't want to use the Genome then if that's your target. To be honest, if you're aiming above 400bhp then the 2.5" system is going to massively restrict your setup, spool and final results. You really need to go 3" exhaust above 400bhp.

Yeah, so everyone seems to think but i'm not convinced on the need to go 3". I'm not saying I know better, I just want to try it and find out for myself.

That's good news for me! From the videos I saw the TSL backbox is a noticeable improvement in sound over the Prodrive.

Did you measure the power with Genome vs TSL?

Anyone ever tried the sb10y cobra exhaust? The silencer looks much smaller than the stock one, and also I like the oem looking exhaust tip. Should sound much louder than stock? Cannot find any info or videos on this exact model

Didn't measure the power as it was road mapped by Andrew Carr on both occasions but had a direct comparison with the car mapped before and after the exhaust change with no other changes at all. The TSL system was so much more free flowing compared to the Genome that my car started over-boosting and wanting to make more boost. With the TSL fitted Andrew had to wind the boost back down a little to achieve the same target boost of 1.35bar but he was also able to add a little more timing and bring the boost in much earlier. The car was like night and day to drive, so so much better without the Genome.

Good to know thanks, my interest in the Genome is now gone.

You still have a car with the TSL exhaust? Or what it your old Forester that you sold?

Nope, I don't have the FSTI with the TSL system any longer. Ironically I sold the FSTI with a Afterburner Vortex rear box I had modified to fit the car and the new owner removed the TSL system and fitted the afterburner just after he purchased the car from me! Each to their own.

Yep and the TSL exhaust is now collecting dust in my garage...much prefer the ASBO vortex exhaust.
Saying that the car has also been sat in my garage collecting dust for the last few months! Will get it back out soon

hahaha. I was too concerned about angry neighbours to use the afterburner in the end. It sounds great even at low revs and immense at speed.

Summer on its way now mate, get it back out again.

I bought and fitted a Genome to mine last
year, had a H&S Jap style on it before. The car definately felt more restricted after
fitting the Genome, not too keen on the
noise it makes either to be honest, think i'll put my previous box back on at some point.

I ran the TSL back box with an un-resonated straight through centre section and sports cat downpipe. It wasn't at all loud, no cabin drone at all and sounded the nuts.

It's long-gone. I wrote that in March 2019!

I do have an afterburner vortex I need to sell though, although that is much louder.

Ha ha! I didn't notice that someone had reignited an old thread!
No worries. I'm looking for something a bit quieter than I have now and am probably going to but a Race Box new to be honest. I think the Ninja may be a bit too loud.
Thanks anyway.

Hello mate, I'm good thanks and the bus is still getting used. Truth be told, I bloody love that bus! More than my 63 bug, the Subaru and the Golf R. So much fun. Of course it's still partially broken and needs the engine taking out again along with the suspension etc etc. But still bloody marvelous!

How have you been?
