I personally couldn't recommend a type r just for track use. Not at the price of them these days. The 4dr is actually a better chassis due to it being more rigid from what I have heard.
On a different note are any of you guys heading to Scoobyfest this year.

Are you talking about the Isle of White Scooby fest? I have mates going but I can’t go unfortunately. I’ll be doing this instead:

I’m sure you guys will be having a lot more fun than I will! 😂

Yes, always nice to put some extra beans in the coffers. I need to pay for a driveway and double garage so some of it will probably end up heading in that direction tbh.
I couldn’t warrant using one as a track car even if I had the cash. I did look at a version 2 WRX RA close to me recently (it’s on eBay now and the price is reduced) but it wasn’t for me, far too many alarm bells ringing!

Car looks spanking mate! Can’t wait to pick it up now! It’ll be a fun drive home!
Mind you, I’ll be taking it fairly easy, not had anything quick for a long time now, I’ll ease myself in slowly!
I know that Gaz will enjoy the car, he’s a petrol head too and he has the skills to maintain a car like this. I’m glad it’s going to someone who will enjoy it. He’s a fan of Santa Pod and I’m looking forward to seeing what it can do down the 1/4 mile. Maybe I’ll get a passenger invite...😜
I’ll be doing a couple of little bits to it just to put my own little mark on it but nowt major
Not been up the Pod for donkeys years so I’ll be a bit rusty! Lol!
Of course you’re welcome to jump in for a few runs mate, that’s the very least I can do
You gonna bring yours along too so we can have a little tear up?!
I really do appreciate you getting the car sorted out for me mate, I’m sorry it caused you a load of grief to get sorted

I’ll put up a thread of my own once I get my paws on it and let you all know how I’m getting on with it with some pics and stuff, we’ll that’s if I can work out how to put up pics, I’m not too good with this internet stuff! 🤣
Really looking forward to collection day!
My daughter has already named it the Batmobile!!

I could bring the RA over. Not sure the strip is it's strongest suit mind you so wouldn't be much of a contest. It really shines on the twisties.
I've never driven a cossie but I'm guessing that the experience is going to be very different. The level of grip, especially with these sticky tyres, is on another level!

Mind you, looking at the weather forecast, it’s predicting rain for Wednesday!!
It’s been a long time since I had my 4x4 sapphire so it’s hard to remember exactly what it was like. That was 450 bhp too and that liked to step the a**e end out quite regularly! I’m sure the Scoob will go a little sideways too but I’m sure it’ll be an easier car to drive fast than the Sapphire as the suspension is far superior to a shonky old Sierra! Lol! It’ll certainly be a quicker car to drive than my 500+ bhp 2wd Cossie was!! That was lively on the back end!!
Thanks mate. I've never actually launched this car so would be keen to see what it feels like! I imagine a rocket wouldn't be too far off!

Your car might not be suited to it but it’ll be fun trying!
Im sure it’ll be a massive improvement over a Cossie mate, the standard suspension on those is absolutely woeful!! I spent so much money to get mine handling well.

It's the end of the road for this thread now, Gaz collected the car on Wednesday.
The car is running really well after the recent dyno session. The torque has increased to around 440lbft and there's a really smooth curve now, hardly any lag at all. It makes for a very drivable car.
I'm sure that Gaz will post some updates once when he has a chance.
The new project will hopefully be delivered on Monday and we go again....

Well, I’ve had the Scooby for 2 days now and I’ve driven it home about 40 miles and that’s about it!
Was hoping to get out in it last night but a last minute stitch up at work put a stop to that!
But so far, from the little amount I’ve driven it, I love it! The roads were a little damp when I collected it from Adam and then the heavens really opened up on the way home and I’m really impressed with how well it grips! The handling is in a different league to an old Cossie, even mine which had thousands thrown at it to get it to handle well would struggle to stay with this easily! Ok so I’m still getting used to it so I wasn’t pushing it that hard but it was so drivable and the power delivery is very smooth with very little lag
Hopefully I’ll get to have more of a play this weekend and with a lot of luck, some drier roads!
I have had a couple of little mishaps though! One of which was while I was on the phone to Adam asking how the detachable steering wheel comes off, he was explaining how to remove it, I pulled on it a little too hard and smacked myself straight in the nose with it as it came off!
And the second, I accidentally left the passenger front window open when I parked it up on Wednesday night and I got into it tonight to have a play with the stereo and a bird had s**t through the window all over the door card! The car was parked really close against the wall so it must have a really good aim!!
I’ve got to say a massive thankyou to Adam for getting the car sorted out for me, I’m very grateful mate
I’ll be doing a few little bits and bobs just to make the car my own and I’ll start my own thread up once I start doing bits, I just need to work out how to put pictures up!
