Cheered Shreksta. Not looking to get more than 400bhp, I’m running out of cash, so price is def a factor. The SC38 rated at only 380 but i saw a few people getting more out of it. Would feel better if it came with a guarantee like some similarly priced ones. The US ones are great prices, would have a bit more headroom than the SC38 if I wanted more power later on, and do come with guarantees. I hear Cobb in particular test the **** out of their stuff. Some good reviews of FP on here. Guess I’ve got a decision to make 🤔

if you looking for under 400bhp ,, why not just convert a standard turbo to a billet wheel one ,, my vf48 made 398bhp with a billet wheel and its only about £3-400 to convert one and thats a whole new core not just the wheel

the sc38 seems a lot of money considering a standard converted turbo can do very similar numbers

Thanks, that’s good to know. Unfortunately my current V43 is quite badly cracked on the wastegate, ruling out just converting it. I need to replace it. However, after reading your post, I did a bit of digging and found pioneering-performance.com in the UK offering an exchange service and supplying refurbished VF48 billets for £500. So def something for me to consider. Thanks

no problem , some times its not about spending loads of money ,, its about spending it wisely ,,, there are a few places on eBay that will also do a full exchange for your vf48 for a billet one

hello again
just picking up this thread again. Is your VF48 billet compressor wheel the OEM size? I’ve Sourced one with larger 62mm wheel but the guys says it’ll spool slower than stock. Maybe 200 - 300 rpm. Was really hoping not to add and lag. What’s your experience? Cheers

If you honestly think you will notice a 2-300 RPM later spooling turbo then I think you need to consider taking chris Harris' job at Top Gear

In 6th gear at 70-80mph, that is fractionally less than a 1 second delay but in 2nd-5th gear you will barely notice it.

Ive too much time on my hands and been over thinking it. Ended up coming full circle and spending the extra on a MD321T...don’t need it’s full power but hey maybe sometime further down the line
