Getting the detail and discussion into a 350-400 is a good idea , Yes I am all for that. Only trouble is at the moment I won't have much to contribute as I'm still a little boy with 328bhp.
My next appointment at Plymouth Engine tune is for the 18th (assuming covid does not have us all hiding inside by then ).

I have a thread going already on Life before and after ported headers and once the Ported Cast Ones are on and I have the before and after graphs then I will be updating that.,
I might just roll me over the 350 bhp mark but as I am using the Std ECUteck and the boost level 1.55bar may now be my limiting factor,
Unless I use a 1,7bar JDM boost sensor or go to a syvecs control this is where it ends ,
and of course what about the 5 speed fragility ?

Recalling that this thread was for a new guy , we are expecting a lot for him to follow this.
therefore rest of the top end is rather hypothetical for me and the OP on the WRX300.

I will catch up with you all on this one in ten days anyhow.

I have started a thread on my car so hopefully can keep it updated and going as i add things and figure out Subarus and Turbos.

I am hoping it's a UK300 !! But could also just be a normal ProDrive one.

Mine has currently been mapped to 264 by scoobyclinic with a few modifications. So will be heading to them end of the week to verify all is good with it.

From the World rally trim Yellow "Subaru" Alcantara seats and the yellow Subaru dummy Fog lamp covers it certainly looks like the WR300 Edition ,

You should also have on our WR300 Aluminium gear **** , ( the one in the picture above ), and WRX300 silver pipe front footwell carpet.
WR300's came with Prodrive "PPP" power package ( you should have a B5 sized certificate in the Car Docs ) ,
Physically if still original you see a mid drkblue turbo intercooler intake Y pipe that will have "Prodrive" white letters.
Engine management is mapped to take advantage of the larger IC intake pipe and sports cat exhaust.

The 300 car on PPP model year 2005 should have a Prodrive backbox and an improved exhaust it should have seen 265 PS @6000rpm 348 Nm@3200rpm a CR or 8:0 +/-.1
and Co emission 219 g/km which put it a step under the Sti Vehicle excise tax class. If your car has been mapped to a lower figure than this then sadly its been knoblled.
Find a good mapper and you should get 275-280 bhp after just taking you std uppipe and decatting it with a hammer chisel and boregrinder.

( the first UK300 labelled edition was 245 PS on 97 Ron unleaded and a UK300 adhesive label on the boot tail) .
unfortunately you won't find a ltd number for the WRX300 on the consul under the radio, only the first edition had that.

Mine is also with an Aluminium bonnet , but I'm not sure if these were special for all WR300's that arrived in UK
July 2005 or if Subaru just used them all up before the Hawk 2006 was launched. In any case yours should have been a June-August registration.
on the road priced £21,495 A very few had a high performance brakes /suspension / and 18" P-FF7 wheels , mine shown above are the Std WRX type

Apart from the Oval 300 chrome badges adjacent to the oval white side indicators you will also have a badge on the boot tail.

300 ---------- 300

Get oil pressure I think is what the general opinion was.

I'm not sure what the ECU reads if I'm honest, that would be one of the factors in regards to the digital gauges you have on the head unit now that I think about it.

I'm from Glossop originally. With the horrific traffic there at least you won't ever have to worry about allowing the car to warm up and cool down properly before and after a run, given you spend at least 20 minutes stuck in crawling traffic to get anywhere in or out of Glossop!

As for garage recommendations I'd highly recommend Autotecnica in Buxton.

Yes that traffic is horrible. Bit better now with lockdown but still busy. Luckily my journey to work once im back in physically takes me over the hills and not too much down the main road.
But a great base for fun driving. Hoping to take the subaru out and compare against my old Accord Type R.

Ah, just started reading this thread. How did you get on changing the stereo? DId you figure out that Japanese cars fit their units without the bezel from behind, not just slide in? You have remove the centre facia unit (easy) and unbolt it then fit the new one to the mounting plates and install it without the front bezel. Sorry I'm late in else I'd have given you all the gen at the time.
