Hurst Cars

In that case you don't have much choice really. How long are you planning on keeping the car?
I'd want to have any Subaru I bought up on a ramp before parting with my cash, as I have done with last 3 I've purchased. If the owner won't let you do that then walk away. I wouldn't be fixated on mileage either, my mates wide track failed at 66k miles yet I've seen cars running well with double that so go on history and condition over mileage. If you're looking at one of these it should have a 6 inch stack of receipts with it if its been looked after properly.
Could this be an option?

Or the narrow track spec c at Hurst?

The second one is a little bit up on the miles for me.
Thanks Adam the search goes on. There is one somewhere.

MOT looks clean enough, might be worth a look even with rust starting.

This one is more expensive but probably worth the extra

You do realise that if you want a car with under 90k miles that means the car will have to of done less than 5k a year for the last 18 years. Condition is far more important than mileage. I went to look at a 2004 car with 54k miles on it in 2019 and walked away after 30 seconds. The MOT history was clean and the mileage was low but the car was a rotter when I got my head up in the turrets. 4 hours either way to see it too! Don't judge these cars on mileage, go on condition, especially a JDM model such as that one at Hurst.

Issue with trying to see the sold auction prices are that USS which are the biggest put a ban on publishing sold prices in 2020 so you can only see the smaller auctions now , Which in general have lower grade cars in. Also just because its an import doesn't mean it will have no rust
Any car from the far north of Japan is as likely to have corrosion as much as any Uk car
There are still some good cars at good prices going through the auction but the prices out there are more than here currently ., You can get a nice one for about 2.5 million yen

High prices, won't budge an inch and not easy to deal with was my impression of them.

Quick sniff round the importer websites and all the prices are incredibly high.
Saw a post on FB some lad asking an importer the OTR price of a S204 and the reply was minimum £45K for grade 4.
Kinda get the feeling that if they dealers are deliberately pushing prices up (making hay while the sun shines) they will be a far greater chance of a price collapse later. Just look at the stock market these days

WTF is going on with the Subarus for sale on pistonheads??
half the cars for sale are for insane prices....not “slightly“ higher than what there worth but absolutely ridiculous....
the car dealers must be working together or something....
