Golf GTI mk2 and Pug 205 GTi's both shot up about 5 years ago (for 1990/1 late models), and I'm guessing that 99/00 MY classics will go the same way in 2-3 years, at the lower end (rather than P1 and RB5) for UK turbos in good, genuine condition. They won't go to Delta Integrale levels, but GT Fours aren't exactly cheap these days, as rust killed a load off.

I reckon anything with 4wd, turbo, no rust, UK spec, full history (20+ services) will find a home easily enough from now on.
25 year rule for Americans being able to import cars, that’s when values shoot up through supply and demand.

That said prices for pretty much anything in good unmolested and low mileage have gone through the roof. I’ve seen a couple of clean low mileage uk turbo 2000’s advertised at the moment, at the same dealer. One is 20 and the other 25 grand.
Another crazy price (possibly same dealer without double checking) is 45 grand for a clean low mileage Peugeot 306 rallye.
Another dealer pretty close to me has a final edition Integrale up for £169k (just dropped it from 175k) and has or had an e30 m3 for £180k

£45k for a Pug 306 Rallye really is la la land. It handled really well like an Integra Type R, but what else ?

I'd argue that the £150k Delta and £20k Impreza are bargains by comparison !

Well yes, whenever I see prices like that I think they must be being sold by Gary Hutton (some might get the reference)

But they all are being sold by dealers that display their cars in completely white background photoshoot ads, you know the type. For some reason these crisp white clean background adverts hoodwink people and drive the market prices skywards.
If someone let their dog on the photoshoot and it left a big steaming turd in shot the prices of the cars would drop 50% . . . me, a cynic . . . never!

Yea it's true, my mate was amazing at taking pictures. He bought a Hyundai coupe of another mate of mine as a stand in car. Then when finished took some mint pictures, sold it for double the price.
