Very sorry to hear that happen to a nice car.

I'm totally paranoid about parking in supermarket car parks,

The other day I was walking back to my car and was watching with interest the silly blonde tart (no offence to blondes or prostitutes) loading her shopping into her Focus, parked next to mine.
As I was strolling up I saw her look over to the trolly park (8-10 cars away) think "f##k it!" and just leave her trolley behind my car.
I got back to my car just as she started up and moved the trolley back behind her car (effectively blocking her path) all the while making sure she could see me doing it, however, instead of getting her fat *** out of her car (and I was with the missus at the time in broad daylight so I don't buy the threatened lone female bit) she just reversed out and pushed the trolley into some other poor sod's car whilst lighting up her ***, and f##ked off nearly taking out some family walking back to their motor in the process.

I always try to park next to what looks like a drivers car (ie not a brown Mk1 Cavalier with 6 kids in the back, feeding the headlining to their dog), at least then I've a fair chance of them showing me the same care and consideration that I'd be extending to their pride and joy.

Its not always the badly looked after cars (drivers) that don't care less. At Mothercare a while back and watched lady in brand new Merc reverse out of space, taking massive chunk out of car next to her. Couldn't have not noticed as the door was completely caved in. She was about to drive off so I stood in her way. She insisted she was going to leave her details on the other car but guess what, when I came out of the shop she was gone without a note in sight.
Unfortunately for her i'd noted her Reg amounst other things and passed details to the other driver. Ended up making a statement for other driver after the Merc driver denied the incident. Sure enough she ended up having to pay which I was well pleased about.

This kind of thing makes me real mad because here is someone who definitely had loads of money smashing in to a beat up old Escort who can't afford a higher premium and was being plain selfish by driving off. Afraid that's the way things have gone and it ain't getting any better.

If you can be bothered to search, there was a chap on the EVO Forum who successfully brought a private prosecution agaonst a numptie who put a huge dent in his week old A Class Merc.

It can be done and it is worth it, just to teach the ******* a lesson.

Our kid used to work at Tesco, his breadknife still does, you should see his car!

On the dent master thing, it's not as easy as it looks

Bob, with dents that can have your eye out!

face it ppl, this place is filled with jealous/don't give a s**t/thieving tw**ts.

had so much scratches and dents in my old beat up 93wrx, decided to leave it even if it looks appalling. even resorted to not wash the car to avoid attention but oh no! got some idiot who decided to have a permanent 'wash me' done on the car and spoiler ripped off.

sad but true.

When I owned my Impreza I was more careful about where I parked it than any other car I have ever owned. Result?? Loads and loads of little dings down both sides of the car. I even used to park at the very end of the supermarket car park, right at the end of a row of empty spaces. Every time I returned some POS would have parked in the next space to me even though they had a choice of 20 other spaces.

Owned the Impreza for a total of 3 days before I had a nice ding in the drivers door. I have owned my Clio for 4 months now, don't care where I park it and it hasn't got a single mark on it.

Why do people see a nice car and decide to park right next to it even if every single other space in the carpark is empty.

Have to admit that since I have got rid of the Impreza I am so much happier now I don't have to worry every time I have to park somewhere.

Used to have a V6 Mondeo which I parked in a private ca park at the back of our offices. Got back to it one day to find the rear bumper a crumpled mess and the front stoved in against the wall I was parked next to. Someone had reversed into it that hard.

Some detective work later found a witness who had seen a man in an silver Audi A4 estate get out of his car, which was standing at the back of mine, look round my car and drive off.

Unfortunately no reg number but went round local companies to ask if they have any employees who drive ....

Later that afternoon get a call from the MD of one of these companies. 'I've found your driver'. Apparently he was an IT consultant with a flash car and no conscience. He was sacked from that job and won't be getting any work that side of town. (Like he cares anyway).

£1,500 damage and almost an entire day of my time.

yep, I've had £400 of repairs done due to a 'parking incident'

Shouldn't have reversed into that post mind....

I'm such a rubbish parker that I always seem to straddle 2 bays, even though I'm at the back of the car park with loads of bays to choose from - oh I wish I could park properly.

Anyone noticed the correlation between dents and the number of complanies which offer "dent removal" service.....

Just before Christmas, I was shopping at my local Tesco (which resembled a war zone, rather than a supermarket because of the Christmas scrum), I saw two cars hit in walking no more than 50 or 60 metres in the car park. One turning into a space and totally misjudging it, the other reversing out. It staggers me how disrespectful and uncaring people have become

I used to park on the end spaces until one very windy day, i got back to my car and found a trolley had blown in it scuffing the hell out of the mirror and a little on the door, i went in to complain that the lads collecting the trolleys wern't doing their jobs very well, but there was nothing i could do about it

Now i just park in the mother and child spaces, or on the far side of the car park where you dont get many people parking.

Actually Jay m A you have (maybe inadvertantly) stuggested an answer. Park straddleing 2 bays. More often than not the ppl either side will still stay in the next full bay leaving us loads of safety room. Only down side to this is that some establishment have started to pay private companies to "police" their car parks, and they often clamp for bay straddleing.

I have also been a victim of this type of victimisation.

I bought a mint impreza and had it a week before i found four seperate scratches on it. No point working for anything nice is there?

On the supermarket front i came out of tesco when i had my Supra and saw a Saxo with its passenger door right into my car. What was worse is the mrs is disabled so we park in the big bays with the blue badges so it wasn't even a tight fit (shock the other car didn't have a blue badge and shouldn't have been there)

Saw the bloke look at the damage and as he climb in i appeared behind him and told him to get out of the car. Sawpped details and got Dent Devils to take the mark out but if i hadn't have seen him i know he'd have sodded off!

Gutted for you mate !

Took ours for a service at the local dealers and it came back with 3 dents down the passenger side, even though I told the dealer to park in a area where the door dingers cannot do damage........which they did, but the workman carrying out repairs in the dealers parked next to it ....

As for supermarkets take up 2 bays and go after 10 in the evening when quiet, as most open 24 hours

Know how you all feel, I nearly always take up 2 spaces when I park and if not spend about 10 minutes driving round the multi storey trying to park next to a wall, so only one side can get damaged.

Still came back to a dent in the rear door from someone else's door and dent master can't remove it as it's on top of a structural part of the door - crap!!!

last week driving to Ayr on the M77 a 2 foot long fence post came off the back of the artic on the opposite side of the motorway and hit my A pillar, denting it to buggery, Never got his details as I was too busy avoiding the post - £350 repair, but I can live with it as 1 inch to the right and it would have impailed me and I would have been stone dead, so can't cry too much!!!!

Default some people have no respect for other peoples property

Why do people do that? why cant they just appreciate a nice car??!!
My mate has a Veilside DC5 and he says sometimes people drive past and give him the birdy for no apparent reason. Also, last week my uncles SL500 got spat at when he was parked up central London.

Fink the worst I've had is coming back to my Type-R (Last Year) after going clubbing to find someone had chucked a Mac Dees strawberry milkshake over the windscreen

A minute or so later an oldish jag parks in that spot and a 50? 60? something women tries to get out, I only really noticed because I could feel the car rock side to side as she bounced her door off my passenger door, she then wanders into marks and spencers without getting a ticker. I sit there and think "how rude! bashing the crap outta the side of my car with me sitting in it!", a couple of minutes previously I had noticed the traffic warden wander past and think to myself of pointing said traffic warden in the direction of her car, then decide I can't be arsed, friend should be here any minute.

About 1 minute before my friend arrived said women returns to her car, sure enough she starts bouncing off my passenger side again, so I wind down the window and in a *polite* voice say:
"would you mind not bouncing your door off my car" "there's not a lot of room" she replied, to which I said "if there isn't enough room you should have parked more to the other side of the space" to which I received the sophisticated reply "Oh **** off", she now in her car, slams her doors, backs out of the space and drives off.

So as I said some people just don't give a stuff about other people's property and I'm sure this is same sort of person who would moan about "the youth of today"
probably not been sha**d for a very long time lol

sorry if this is not what you want to hear but if its noticeable that you are trying to avoid getting your car dinged or dented by parking it in such a way its more than likely encourage some **** to damage your car so you cant win its a catch 22......buy a wolf in sheeps clothing instead.

I had £500 of repsray after someone scuffed the side of my WRX whilst reversing out of the space next to me. Needless to say they didn't stop or leave their name/number .

On a similar note myself and a Boxster owner were just watching a learner driver practising reverse parking between our cars !!!
