It's a development of the TEK 2 map with conservative settings, is that right John ?
I paid for a TEK 3 just haven't had the time to go to Scotland, and collect it![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Bloody brilliant though![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Around this area is my back garden so watch out ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

I fitted a TEK2 to my RB5 last week (well, I'd had the car for 14 hours) along with an ITG, and it came with a ScoobySport BB.
It's a good improvement from what I can tell, and better with SUL than Optimax, but I've only driven one other Scoob so I'm not the best judge. Would a TEK3 make much difference on my car (I don't want to go much further as it's 50,000 a year work transport)?
I'm not sure about mpg, I seem to get 250 miles to just under 50 litres no matter if it's motorway or city, but I only brought it home before changing the ECU so I have nothing to compare it to.
I agree with what John says about perceived performance; I spent £££££ on mods for a 944 Turbo over the winter and it felt slower afterwards until I got it on a B-road I know well, then it felt like the brake pads had been greased because it was carrying so much more speed into the corners. The I holed the sump so it's sitting in my garage waiting for more cash now.
Damaja; I'm in Honiton, tell me what you've got and I'll look out for you.

Regarding revs... one gentleman whose Tek 2 I made into a custom map told me a week later that he didn't like it because it went so much better at high revs than before and he kept taking it to high revs because he knew extra power was there. I had added to the midrange too, but the most improvement was at the top. "Isn't that a good thing?" was my reply
It is odd, if you keep the boost down low down and then bring it in with a bang it SEEMS very quick. If you make the top too good the midrange feels flat in comparison. I think another trip to the rolling road is in order
However, I still believe in torque and boost curves as wide as is safe even if it feels smoother/slower. The extra torque may be what gives the economy because you don't thrash it everywhere... just don't Tek 3 it because then you will because the top end will come alive. I personally love the reward of lots of top end power, within reason. I don't like the sort of turbo that drops boost after 5000 RPM.
The thing that a lot of people find immediately exciting on a turbocharged car is the rate of change of boost, not the actual boost level itself. So it is the CHANGE of acceleration, not the actual acceleration itself. Very odd the way the brain works.
