Brilliant, but it's a shame I didn't get out on the track again. Track was shut just as I was going out! Did manage to get a few laps out early on, but I drove like a granny - sorry to those behind me!!!

Thanks to John Felstead who yet again showed me THE way to drive at Dono! The handbrake bit was excellent!!! As I said to him, if it had been anyone else I would have **** my pants!! How ladylike!!

Can't wait for the Ring now

P.s. Dave got sunburnt

The Exige is putting out ~260bhp, and was the first Exige TurboTechnics converted. (For more info: My car is featured in May's edition of Evo magazine, and was also voted "Ultimate Track Car" by Cars + Car Conversions magazine in April -- which is nice)

I did meet the black Porsche on a few occasions, and it didn't put up any resistance.

Great Day out. just wish I had something that would keep up , allthough i did see a Sport do the Short Session!

Big Thanks go to John Felstead who took me out and showed me How to "Not" drive the track - Sideways most of the way , allthough it was great for entertaining the crowd and Myself.

Big thanks to Adge in the 22B and also Blowdog, who both took Gaz,one of My Mates out... he hasn't shut up about it

Well done to Stef and co. for organising a great day. Thouroughly enjoyed it and a tribute to the best motoring club in the UK. Great job. However....

Driving was attrocious, though, with nothing but outright disregard for the saftely of others and utter disrespect from some of the more 'experienced' drivers. I urge SIDC to take note of persistent offenders and ensure steps are taken to ensure these people are kept off the track.

I fear that one day, someone is going to get seriously hurt. I've been peppered once today, then near forced off the track because of an inability of others to control the red-mist. If you feel the need to collect scalps/trophies then I suggest you start a race team and enter the competitive season.

THIS IS NOT A RACE!

Some of us actually plan to drive home in the same cars we've arrived in. Please keep it real. The amount of cars that suddenly appeared when the Ferrari showed was pathetic.

As for everyone else, was a pleasure to see you all there again. The car-park was a truly incredible sight. Look forward to the remainder of the summer.

This was my first Scooby event having only got one about three weeks ago. Nothing prepared me for the awesome sight of around 450 Scoobs in that car park. I couldn't stop walking up and down with my chin on the floor. The racing was great to watch!

Although I haven't driven on the track (yet) this was a great day and thanks to the organisers for creating such a great atmosphere. Everybody was really friendly and I'm looking forward to another meet to get to know a few people.

Had a really crap journey back south (left about 1:30ish). Got stuck twice on the M1, J23 seemed to have been a big accident, looked like a horse trailer was involved and the horse didn't make it. After it finally started moving got to a standstill at J21 again where it looked like a red rover had a nasty encounter with the central barrier. 3 hours for a 50min journey ... nonetheless it didn't spoil the great time I had.

"Mellow" (is that supposed to be ironic?) was driving dangerously, and (I'm told) was given a few warnings about his driving. Drivers who show no respect for others who values their lives/cars shouldn't be allowed on the track. I noticed the black Evo7 driver causing troubles too, although he yielded for me (eventually)
Oh well, I shouldn't comment really as I wasn't there... but why drive a 355 on a Scoob day ? You have about 87 cars, so why not bring out a Scoob ?

I'm sure you were IFG and all, but still, it all smacks of " I don't like people overtaking me in a lower powered car"

Perhaps Silverstone was more Ferrari compliant today

You're right, you weren't there, so you shouldn't comment. I don't own a Scoob, so couldn't bring one, but I am a member of the SIDC. What makes you think I don't like people overtaking me ? The comments I made regarding Mellow referred to when I was in the Exige, and that had nothing to do with overtaking. As for the F355, I was happy for people to overtake me, believe it or not - I just found their attitudes amusing. I guess you had to be there, which you weren't.

David,

My question was really ... why drive a 355 on a Scoob day ?

The cunning underlying question was ... and not be able to trash them.

But as I said, I wasn't there

PS: I'm sure the general driving skills were horrible, like they frankly always are at these kind of meets, and this isn't a personal attack to you - unlike the previous statement.

So why bother ? With a 355 even. Or an Exige ?

Answer me this then. I know, I wasn't there though.

Well i didnt have any issues with anyone so thats that from me.

I only went out in the afternoon session and i must admit i was a bit miffed having paid for a full 2pm to 6pm session to only get 2:30pm to 4:30pm! Track closures happen for acidents (i hope your all sorted soon Blue m8!) but i was very surprised to find the track close at 5pm, that wasnt what we were told! Putting that one point aside i thoroughly enjoyed the day, all the guys on the SIDC committe plus everyone who helped the day happen should be congratulated! It was great to see so many supliers attend too.

I really enjoyed meeting up with all the old school guys from 3 years ago, plus all the people i have met since through the BBS and track days. It's amazing how many people you know through this forum when you see them all in one place.

Today was the first time i drove my car in anything close to its limits, at first it felt a huge whale after my westie, i was absolutely pants in the hairpin first session, i just couldnt get it to turn in because i was driving it badly, still using my RWD head.

Second run onwards though, what a laugh! It was probably slow through the hairpin but it was a real giggle getting the back out on the handbrake then nailing it. I was getting to grips with it then the track shut which was a shame. Very relieved your OK though blue! Hope to see you soon with it all sorted!

Glad some of you enjoyed the powerslides and glad i got to take some of you on track and show you how to, or not to drive dono.

All in all a brilliant day, good fun the night before too! Looking forward to the next one now, scoobs are pretty good when you learn how to drive them.

Why drive an non Subaru at a SIDC day ?

I guess you could ask that of all the Honda, BMW, Mitsubishi, Rover, Nissan owners that were there too.

I've still got lots of mates in the SIDC who I enjoy meeting up with at SIDC track days.

I didn't ask them, I asked you because you complained about the driving standards. What exactly made you think standards would be different this time around ?

Oh, and I'm an SIDC member too (and I even drive a Scoob, perish the thought), and met/meet lots of folks as well. Doesn't mean **** though.

scoobs are pretty good when you learn how to drive them
Careful John, this may be used against you
