Cem,

sorry, didn't mean to jump down your throat mate.

At the same time though, in my official japanese handbook that came with my car and in the service schedule, the service intervals were clearly marked as every 4500 km's, not miles. Ralliart Uk have obviously decided to disregard the official japanese service interval recommendations, but I can promise you that's what it said in black and white.

Just out of interest, what are the other performance affecting differences between the Mak and the GSR - I would be interested to know?

I still miss the looks of the Evo though, it looks like nothing else

Cheers,

MS

Blowdog,

Have you sold the mak yet and either way what do you think of the Evo VII?

Why is no one recommending that??

Jason,

As a convert, all I can say is you will not be disappointed if you 'go Evo'. An added bonus is the reaction from P1 owners - you can tell they are not happy to see you...wonder why?

Hey scoobymike!

Welcome back on the board!

Mak is a cool car

greetings
ric

PS You should upgrade to Ralliart spec, shorter gearing etc......and of course a PPP exhaust

Cool

Hi Ric

my gearing is short enough, the scoob in comparison is geared like a diesel!
Just preparing my car for the Ring.
Already on my second set of tyres after 5000km of which 1500km were bedding the car in.
But you get the rewards!

Jza,

No doubt, the 7 is a fantastic car, but not one I thought was worth 7k over mine (the amount I would have to fork out for one).

It really didn't feel that much different to what I drive now, apart from a new shell and an interior that I despise. The rest, mechanically at least, is near identical.

However, if someone said to me, take a pick, Makinen v VII, I would take the VII. I just dont think I would benefit from the change.

Yo Mike!

...just a joke with the gearing
...but I heard about a guy in the "Romandie" that has an EVO VI Ralliart, seems to be bloody fast!

Ring cool!

There is a "slalom"-race at the Dübendorf airport round the 30 of June, a lot of fun and 5.5km track to drive.

You're really a tire-eater......but I can understand as I am also addicted to fast cars!

My Scoob is a BEAST now, suspension, rims and brakes are sorted. Now: more power! Don't know which way to go at the moment. I know somebody that will check the Sportec chip of Mio, as I am not sure if they just do the same as Digit Power (FCD+bleed valve).

However, have a good weekend!

greetings
ric the Diesel-scooby driver

One other thing. There is a lot more difference between the Mak and GSR than the turbo and suspension.

Cem
Also if you don't mind a really raw car without as much practicality, have a look at the Evo VI RS Sprint. More power (330bhp), lighter (1250kg vs 1360 for Evo VI), quicker, everyone I've heard who drove or test drove one thought it was a cut above the others for raw performance. And it is cheaper (I believe it was 25k new??). Drawbacks are even worse fuel consumption, no ABD, no creature comforts, and you can have any colour you want as long as it's white Might be worth a drive?

I now have a P1 but am still running in, first impressions fantastic gearshift suspension perfect for uk roads.
Hopefully having downpipe and centre section fitted tomorrow at tsl motorsport provided they can fit me in. Even without it sounds a lot better than the evo.
Still think the evo looks better though!

spension just right,. brakes crap
IMO getting a bigger set of brakes is essential for the P1. The original Prodrive upgrade I found excellent, but now they have had to fit different pads there is not quite as much bite. They are still good and don't fade at all, but I think an aftermarket kit would now be a better option unless you're worried about warranty.
