Hi again.
Are you sure this car is a genuine Sportline?
Don't take offence but............
Is it on the original Merc docs?
With larger wheels than the standard 7H/15 with 60 profile tyres the superb handling ride characteristics of the Sportline are lost.
Do you still have the original 8-hole wheels as these can be refurbed.
Does it have Bilstein dampers are just a 'lowered' suspension?
I have never seen a Sportline with the badges behind the side repeaters. On all the Sporlines I've seen (>6) they all have them below the trim underneath where the indicators are. They are usually in the same position even on LHD continental cars which do not have side repeaters at all.
The seats look wrong. They seem to be standard items rather than the 'sport seats' of the Sportline configuration. They should have different texture leather on the larger side bolsters and side uprights.
It is truly a lovely car but if it is not as the above you'll never get £11,000 for her. My local dealer has 2 non-sportlines with lower mileage for £8995 and £9450 which are in 1st class nick and <70k with FMBSH.
The Sportline Convertible for £15,995 incidently is still for sale and is clearly a Sportline but alas has an 18mth gap in it's history hence why it's still for sale.
The hunt goes on. 95N E320 Coupe and E220 test drives at the weekend.
Convince me of your car's originality and I'll try and pop up and have a look regardless of expense as it would clearly be worth it.

Hi, Yes the car is registered as a sportline in the logbook but it wont really matter now, I have just takewn a deposit for the car to-night, The chap who wants to buy it is the foreman from our Local Mercedes benz dealer and he has researched the car and its history and found nothing amiss, Thank you for your interest in the car and thank you to everyone on Scoobynet who put up with me for so long.

I am truly sorry to see this car go and I still get notions to keep it as i dont think it could ever be replaced, I wish you luck in finding the car that you want, I am still very interested in the cabriolet so please send me details to benview7@netscape.net

regards
