Anyone gone from a Scooby to an Octavia RS?

1. Are the brakes ok (smaller than the vRS) ?
Straight answer, no, I fade them then boil the fluid with amazing regularity, but then I would probably do the same on the RS, as the caliper and pad size is identical, the disc is slightly larger. You can get the mounting bracket from an RS and use the bigger disc quite easily tho, which would give you an identical setup. I have some Ferodo DSC2500's, and some super dot 4, waiting to go onto the car shortly.
2. Have you chipped to 180 or beyond ?
Yes, 222bhp, the 4x4 1.8T is almost identical to the RS. (NB, please be aware that there are a lot of different 1.8T's around, don't assume they are all identical)
3. Does it roll too much ?
On a progressive turn, no, on a hard sudden change (90degrees plus) yes it does. The anti roll bars are titchy, so I'm looking to drop some in from an S3 or similar.
4. Do you regret not getting the vRS ?
Hell no. The RS is a better, cheaper, more driver focused car when compared straight out of the box, but even though all I have done is chipped it, I believe my 4x4 to be better *for me* than an RS. If your favourite drive is on track or a fast sweeping A road, then the RS is probably for you, if you prefer tight twisty wet poorly surfaced country lanes, then take a look at the 4x4, it may be what you are looking for. I'm prepared to make any car "my own" and change \ tune until it's perfect for me, the 4x4 does need that, the RS you may be content with unchanged.

1. Do you get much wheelspin / torque steer with the ASR off ?
2. With ASR on, does it kill the power too much when starting off ?
3. What DON'T you like about the car ?
I am really pleased with the car, the only grumbles I have so far are that the wheels do get quite mucky with brake dust, and that you have to turn the heated rear window button off manually - it doesn't turn off automatically like it did on the Scoob.
So, nothing serious then

IanC, wannabee
As I suspected - both damn fine cars and down to personal preferences. I would probably go to AMD for a remap on either so power would not be an issue. I'll drive both and buy one.
IanC - what is the difference between the 150 and 180 'standard' verisons of the 1.8T ? ie How come both can be chipped to 220bhp+
- is the 150 a detuned version of the 180 so to speak ?
