In memory of my brother Nick, who died this weekend aged 22

Thank you once more for all your kind words of support.
They have really helped me and my family through this hard time.
A group of us went to the Fisherman pub last night to honour Nick (he liked his beer ). We all had a really good time.
Thank you to everyone who came, especially those who came huge distances. Nick would have loved it.
Thanks.
Rich

Rich,
Sincere condolences to you and your family. I have a brother more or less the same age and can't imagine life without him about, so words fail me at what you must be going through.
Take Care,
Mice.

Very sad news. I have struggled to find the words to write
about such a tragic loss of a young brother, who will clearly be
missed by a lot of people. I hope you can take some comfort in
the fact that he has saved some lives and I for one will now be
getting a donor card.

My current commitments prevent me from coming down but your family are in my thoughts and prayers!
Let me know the funeral day and I too will say a small prayer.
As has been said before, remember the good times and remember his sad departure has bought a new lease of life to others through his organ donation. Be proud.

Writing this with tears rollin down my cheeks. I was unfortunate in losing a member of my family on my birthday and every time i hear or read of other peoples sad loss it brings back so many wonderful memories that i am able to cling to and cherish and these are what you have to do at this very sad time. I will be there on wednesday with my husband to pay our respects to you and your family.
If there is anything that gossy or i can do please do not hessitate to let us know.
This thread has made myself and gossy realise how precesious life is and has brought us back together as husband and wife.
R.I.P NICK.

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be too late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

I'm sat here, thinking of you all at the funeral, I'm trying to help unburden your breaking hearts with the love that comes across the miles.
Twinkle twinkle little star
How I wonder where you are...
Up above the world so high
Your the newest diamond in the sky.

I hope that the funeral and everything went OK today, with a good turn out of burbling flat fours, and Nick’s Friends. I didn’t know Nick but I have read a lot of Rich’s posts, and I know a lot of people that knew Nick and know Rich.
I’ve just come back from my 23rev salute, out of respect to Nick and his family. 23 being Nick’s age today. I went to an old airfield near me that is very picturesque, with a flat landscape, and groups of 100ft fern trees surrounding part of the field, an old lightening Fighter Jet in front of the old control tower. The old taxiway is a straight public road that I use daily.
So I sat there in silence for one minute, and then revved my Scoob 23times in respect to Nick Wild.
I hope that was a suitable tribute.
Its strange to think that all over the country other Scoobynetters would have been doing the same thing. That’s one of the best qualities of this community.
My thoughts go out to his Family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Been away, just seen the awful news. I hope the funeral went well and that your lasting memory will be that your brother was a true scooby fan and all round top bloke.
My sincere best wishes goes to you and your family. I shall be out on my motorbike this evening and I shall think of Nick as I pull a super huge wheelie in his memory.

Just got back from Nicks funeral, I have to say I was taken back by the amount of people who attended, it just goes to show what a bloke he was. I never knew him, but listening to the tributes read by Rich and the others it sounds like he was a great guy and I know he will be missed. I was proud to be part of the day and happy to send him off with the flat four rumble!!!
All the best to Rich and his family in the time of sadness.

I would like to say I felt privileged to have the opportunity to pay my respects to Nick.
Today showed how remarkable he was and in a tragically short life he seems to have achieved more than I managed in twice that time. It was an emotional event but the eloquent and composed tribute from Rich provided inspiration, he even mentioned Scoobynet
I’m told there were 35 Subarus at the church and the uninterrupted convoy including numerous other marques, lights ablaze and ribbons flying, can only be described as awesome.
Certainly a day I’ll remember and draw strength from for some time.

It was truly special.
It's not often that I am thoughtful with my words but today, I believe that the rumble of flat fours and the evident love from his family, gave Nick the send off he would have desired.
