Rich,
Sorry mate i didnt even get to speak to your brother last thursday im so sorry that this had to happen to you and your family
Words cannot express how i feel at the moment your loss is terrible as your brother was so young
Definately keep the car going in his memory and im glad to hear that even in these bad times he cared enough to help others who would no doubt be dead now if it wasnt for his generosity
He will live on in those along with his memories with all those who met and knew him
Kind Regards
Tony

Terrible, Terrible news.
When my baby daugther died a few years ago, my wife and I made a pact that we would share our feelings with each other no matter how stupid or illogical they were. Bottling things up and trying to 'be strong for the family' are a typical reaction to a sudden and tragic loss. However, sharing our feelings with close friends and family no matter how dumb they sound will help the grieving process more.
Really sorry to hear of your news. Let me know what time the funeral is and i'll be sure to fire up my car for a 7500 rev salute.

Rich, this is shocking news. My deepest sympathies to you and your family
My brother Mark is the same age as Nick was, which really brings to home just how tragic this is.
We should all be proud of Nick and the gift of life he has generously given to others.

Rich.....I'm so shocked
If I can make the funderal I would be honoured to attend. Keep me posted.
My very deepest sympathies to yourself and please pass on my condolances to your family whom I'm sure must be devestated. Apart from seeing your brother at the NW Meet last Thursday we never got chance to talk.
I am really upset by your news.

Speechless.
Hope he gets a load of Scoobs saying goodbye. For those who can't attend, I think a synchronised startup is a great idea.
As for being a donor - hero.
All the best

Thank you again so much for all your thoughts and words.
I am overwhelmed by all your kindness.
A synchronised startup is an excellent idea. I'll post up the funeral details as soon as I know them, but for all those who can attend, please do.
I will print off this thread once it finishes and show it to my Mum and Dad who I am sure will be very thankful to you all.
Cheers
Rich

this is a poem for u mate
God Was Your Closest Friend
by Randall Beers
I knew you were hurting although you wouldn’t cry,
And could see you were suffering, see the pain in your eye
I wanted to comfort you, to hold you, be with you that day,
You looked so helpless and frail while in bed you did lay.
I watched as you shivered from a new pain,
And wondered how I might have handled the same.
I wanted to scream, to shout, and to yell,
You said you were fine although your skin was so pale.
I knew in my heart your time was near end,
And wished I could take you, your body to mend.
I knew that soon God would be your closest friend,
You told me many times that’s how it would end.
I stood there watching as each breath came slow,
And fought to find courage, my emotions were low.
I promised you when the time came that I’d not cry,
You never saw my eyes wet, always they were dry.
I held your hand as I silently said goodbye,
And knew in my heart that soon you would die.
I stroked your forehead and said how I loved you,
You nodded and smiled and I knew that you knew.
I no longer care, my tears I can’t hide,
And as I stood there waiting for death by your side.
I knew then that God was your closest friend,
You had told me many times that’s how it would end.

My thoughts are with you and your family Rich.
I'll gladly give a 4 cylinder salute at the appropriate time as I'm sure it's what Nick would have wanted.
Let us know if there is anything else we do to make this hard time any easier for you.
Kindest Regards
Dave Morgan

Very tragic and very sad for someone full of life and enthusiasm to depart this planet so young My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
I couldn't make it to the funeral, but happy to get involved in a synchronised engine start-up/minutes silence/whatever at the nominated time.
Also happy to try and raise money for any charity that youself or family nominate over the next few months.
