Hello everyone ! I have had my Impreza2000 for a couple of months now and this is my first message. Unfortunately, I know Khalid (KS) who does not own a Subaru !!
If Darren Tiday is reading this - I acknowledged you (in the green car) last week on the A47 @ LFE. I think we met a while back at your workplace - with Khalid.
Anyway, I know there's 1000's of mods for scoobys, but what do you lot reckon is the best start - for performance only please ?

2000turbo, hmmmmm, 1st mod i would do on that model is full decat including downpipe and fit Blitz Nur-Spec R exhaust system

gives good power difference and sounds perfect, be warned though, quite loud

then do management system which is a little bit more expensive

Alex come to the next or any of the cov meets in the future & you can check out the various mods & associated noise if u like I also have turbo 2000 & presuming yer totally standard my 1st mod would have 2b wheels as the 15"ers especially with crap rubber are without doubt the week point (yes i did spin it) crap rubber worst point but lower profile tyres improve handling/turn in for cornering Exhaust improves the performanc by a reasonable margin i suppose but is fabulous as it truely unleashes the scoobs best feature the flat 4 boxer burble In terms of genuine improvements i'd recomend a quick shift which improves sporty feel no end over standard HUOOOOOOOOGE gear change & brakes, depending on what year it is u have, would be another cunning plan b4 any big style BHP greed sets in lol

Thanks to everyone who wrote back - my inspiration is starting !
My last car was a MkII Astra GTE, I changed a lot of things cosmetically and picked up the perforamance to what would still be quite rapid today.
I haven't had to many problems with the traction (15" Bridgestone Potenza SO4's). I don't like the sound of taking the cat out but I think a nice stainless system is definitely in order to kick off with.
What about non-visual (insurance undetectable!)things like a new ECU - aren't there massive gains there - once free-flow air in.?

 

P.S. Please humour Khalid and just smile (everyone else does) he is booked in for his next check up, so fingers crossed everybody.

 

Here if u kum 2 da next Cov area meet then u can do a good exchange with Darren Tidday He will supply a ludicrously long list of mods u can/he has done & in return u can tell him wot he needs 2 do 2 his astra rally car thing they bort 2 a previous meet (sub section 25c presuming he or Rob555 havent already twatted it!! lol)
