STi PPP - Mighty Strange...
#123
Personally, I think it's a big marketing ploy to get £2K out of our pockets just coz it's got a Prodrive badge.
Considering it's STi who have mapped ALL the PPP ECU's, then the might as well just call it a SPP and stop messing around.
So much for all this "Development" costs we kept hearing about to justify the costs
John

Sorry to hijack your thread but it seems you want it killed off anyway , as everyone on hear has an STI, I am thinking about getting one and have 24hours to convince my self, as it's sitting in the dealer. Firstly
are there only 750 being made,
how many have you seen left,
are they going for full retail,
has anyone who has gone from standared 01wrx got any usefull opinions
drove one for a day 6 months ago wasn't completely convinced but im sure it would grow on me, anyway its faster that's all that matters i suppose. still if i do get it i can come hear and join in with the moaning about the PPP no show .

Prodrive or WRX Style?? Seems like there's pretty few left.
It has the same 'nature' as the '01 - i.e. less 'edge' than the Old shape. It'll probably take you less time to get used to than those of us who moved from MY'00 or before.
VERY slow to 3000 Revs; quick (but no more) to 4000, then - WHAM. That's why it needs the PPP so badly. Like all Scoobs, takes a while to loosen up. 6 speed box allows you to make use of the torque over 4000 revs, but means a lot more paddling around.
Worth trading up from an ordinary '01 IMHO, but allow £2K for PPP if you want to get best driving experience (or do anorak Mods, if that's your bag). 18" wheels are said to be extremely helpful, but haven't invested myself.
Economy - 5%less mpg. Insurance - more, of course - try Schofields.
Go for it - you know you want one!
