Jaimie - I've wanted to drive 'Bealach na Bo' for about 10 years now, ever since Auto Express placed it no.1 of the 20 best drivers roads in GB. Never had the time to make it that far north yet, but will be a definate when I get my Scoob.
For the record, Bolton Abbey to Burnsall in Y.Dales; The Ranges above West Witton (beware the 25foot high chevron signs); Wrynose Pass and Hardknott Pass, Lakes.
Basically, any stretch of tight, narrow, twisty, unpredictable, undulating and smooth asphalt thats quiet enough to feel the rush on.
Live fast, drive faster.

Hmmm, almost a year on, and my luck hasn't changed
I was out in my Focus last weekend when i stumbled upon a gem of a road known as the B934 Caution is required, but there are a few corners where you can 'have a go'
I start it from a town called Dunning, where it ascends into the forest & changes from a rather abbrasive surface into sticky black tarmac. It goes through forests, over bridges past rivers, the whole lot! It's just a great road. Nothing else matters when the car is working & the road is clear
Unfortunetly I was out yesterday and while I was cooling down after a run, and slowly driving along a new road to me. When another car came around the corner & jammed their brakes on when they seen me. Well I had all 4 wheels off the road trying to get out of their way, but he was locked up & was coming straight for me The black skid marks on the road mark the point where he ploughed into me
So if you're ever in the area, excersise caution. No amount of caution couldn't have stopped that guy hitting me, but hey, that's life innit? I've got some photos of the road that I'll post up later
