Been to 5 islands - must admit Tobago my fave. Best people, good surfing, scuba best in Carib and fantastic fishing.
Been 3 times now. Just can't stop

I just got back a week ago. Been going twice a year for the last 10yrs for work and pleasure.
Fabulous place. West Coast is more sophisticated than the South and has the better restaurants. All personal taste of course. Holetown is a good area with several bars and places to eat - Olives, Angry Annies, Raggamuffins and the Mews are all good. Bombas (owned by Wayne and his Scottish wife) in St James is great to watch the sun set. Daphne's Restaurant just down the road is great for lunch, but pricy. The only West Coast Club is BAKU - once owned by the Po Na Na people I think! Mullins Bay is great with a good beach and bar/restaurant right on the beach.
Clubs in Bridgetown are the Boatyard, Ship Inn and Harbour Lights. The red light/ eye opening road to drive down at night in a secure car is Baxters Road (a tourist sight believe it or not).
An afternoon at Crane Beach and Bottom Bay is highly recommended. Amazing beaches and lunch available at the Crane Beach Hotel. Further round the coast you come to Bathsheba and the Atlantic coast. Go to the Round House for a bite, cheap but excellent. Sand streches for miles and the coast line is almost prehistoric. This beach also has the most amazing waves 3-4 stories high.
Jolly Roger is good fun, but watch out for the sun and the rum punch. Irish mist catamaran is also good. Jet Ski's - never pay more than 40-50 Bajan $ for quarter of an hour. If you're renting a car go to Corbins, they're the cheapest and I've used them for years with no problems. Oh and you wont get anything too hot to hire car wise all vehicles are subject to over 200% import tax. The local Subaru garage sells WRX's and MY00's for over £50k equivalent!?!?!?!?
Waterfront in Bridgetown is good for lunch - not sure if it's still open - overlooks the harbour. The helicopter rides are amazing. Cricket and horse racing good fun as well as the polo at Holders Hill. All the attractions previously mentioned are good fun, there are also lots of National Heritage open plantation houses to visit.
Other useful info: 3 Bajan dollars = £1 approx.
you can use US$. be prepared to wait to go through customs when you get off the plane. Buy your Mount Gay Rum to take home from the local supermarket, it's cheaper than duty free!!!!! beware the yellow buses - they are MAD. Bajans drive on the left. - thank god.
You can drive around the island in a day. Wear plenty of sun cream. It is currently the hottest time of year, it was in the high 90's last week and the island is currently only 16degrees from the equator. If it rains don't worry - it'll pass quickly. It usually downpoars for 10-20mins twice a day. keep $25 bajan aside each for departure tax when you leave the island.
Hope I haven't bored you to death, and have a cracking time.
Cheers,
Scottdg

Only seen Barbados from the air and the airport
Flew to Port of Spain, Trinidad, then went back up to Antigua for antigua race week, then back to Triniad again, lovely place.
Off again to Trinidad in October, may try Tobago, whoever mentioned Tobago, any places you recommend, not the biggest place I guess...
Saw a few WRXs in Port of Spain and a nice blue 4 door in English harbour, Antigua.

I reckon go for Premium.. wish I'd done it for the Barb' run..
Im not that big, but I could barely fit into those ****e "basic" seats.. just enough room .. my shoulders spilled out to a good arm width either side.. was fun at food time... not (middle seat)
bloke next to me was V skinny.. so it didnt work out too bad.. for me anway

Anyone thinking of heading to the Carribean, I was looking for flights to Trinidad again, cheapest was £500 flying with BWIA (But Will It Arrive?)
Then after booking the tickets discovered you can fly to Tobago with BA for the same money then get a hop to Trini for about £30. May be similar prices to other islands.
