"This has gone the same bad way a thread some weeks back went when someone posted up for some sympathy about a lost pet."

well that explains a lot!

Question?

What do the network design specialist, the computer consultant/developer & the investment consultant on here all have in common with an amoeba? Apart from being so far up themselves they can't see daylight.

Answer.One brain cell.

Well one cell period.

If that's what specialty, development & consultancy spawns then god help you.

I guess, being an (allegedly) democratic nation we all have the right to say whatever we want no? In the same vein, do we not also have the right to 'Not' listen?
I totally agree with that, but it doesnt work like that on scoobynet. I even got threatened by the administrator that I would be banned if I bypass the swearfilter! **** is fine, but with the letters in the right order I get banned? LOL...

Nothing like turning a debate on the pros and cons of what should and shouldn't be debated on S'net together with the worrying tendancy for emotional one-upmanship and raging sheep mentality to be turned personal is there ?

<Typed a sunstanstial amount but deleted it. If thats the general level of discussion wanted, it wouldn't have been read anyway>

Like a bunch of school girls sometimes, if you dont agree with something on here, just to the top right of your browser is a button with a cross in it, click it and it all goes away..

Alternatively, you could show some maturity and go for flat eric's approach..

besides which I'm intrigued as to how, as a single celled creature, I can still get my head up my own ****.

Now biology isnt my thing - but do amoebas have ******** ? (or Heads ? )

Cool

Claudius

You are French (or profess to be) that is enough

Flattie

I'm not 100% sure I understand you (am pi$$ed) but if I think you're saying what you're saying then I agree 100%

Smitty

An ameoba is surely capable of doing what it is you says it can't because it has no backbone. Whether it has the brain capacity to want to do that is another matter Probably just do it because it happens to happen - like the millions of monkeys over millions of years tapping typewriters - sure to produce the comple unabridged version of the Works of Shakespeare

I struggled to decide wheather I should leave this thread to dissapear into the obscurity it deserves.
Nicks response actually decided the issue for me, I'm sure he has more important things to do than read a debate over moderation so:-

Hi,

Thank you so much to all of you who turned out yesterday for Nick's funeral and to those of you who revved your cars and did whatever tributes you thought fit.

Both me and my family were deeply moved by the response from Scoobynet and everything that has been done and said for Nick.

Thanks especially to Gossy who videoed the whole event for posterity after travelling such a long way. My parents were bowled over by the whole thing.

Loads of guests came up to me and said how great it was to see all the cars with their black ribbons and hear them rumbling up the road.

Special thanks also to my mate Mellow for organising the Birch meet and to Michelle for co-ordinating the Southern/Midlands posse.

In fact thank you to everyone for giving my brother the best send off I could have hoped for. Peolple came from all over the country and it was truly amazing.

I'm going to keep you all posted of the developments with Nick's car and when we smash the 300bhp mark!!

Take care all of you and see you soon.

Rich
I can't comment directly on the thread as I was "on the bandwagon" and didn't see it. Remarkably I find for once I'm in agreement with Astraboy & Neil.

Remember, Rich put the information on the board and invited people to celebrate his brothers life. You are entitled to your opinion Mark but in the circumstances less indignation and a little more sensitivity might be appropriate.

I am hoping to organise a charity night, if it comes off it will be the unreserved support of ALL the family. Money raised will go to causes they approve of allowing others to continue to benifit from Nicks untimely death.

If that means I've jumped on yet another bandwaggon so be it!

Viz magazine went rapidly downhill once they started accepting advertising and Punch before that (for those that can remember)

I think the parallels are interesting, where once there was thought provoking content, wit and originality, there is now only repetitive inane drivel

This bbs suffers because the majority of people contributing can't handle anything more contentious than a one line text mesage from their feeble mates - a general malaise afflicting the populus.
