Cool

Sounds like fun

Gotta be a long way from the SE though - congestion down there is bad enough without 200 Scoobs all trying to get to the same place!

I would suggest the Midlands (cos they're in the middle oh, and I live here! & so does Mikey )

Nice one Mikey!!!!

If we can get rid of the kids then we're in. If sooner rather than later, Sunday 18 Aug would be fantastic. The WaxWizard will have just done his magic and NO KIDS that weekend!!!

We do something similar in the Bristol area group. Meet at bristol then taunton where devon/somerset/cornwall meet then accross exmoor stop then taunton. Works well.
A real big project could be a weekend of driving all the groups fav roads accross country, would take a lot of organising and petrol money but think of the driving
Just a thought

Well done Mickey. I suggested something along this lines in the "Maximillion Gumball Rally" thread a few days ago, just didn't have enough energy to start anything proper about it, so thumbs up.

I'll be up for it, and will be happy to help with the organisation etc.

Are you gonna invite us Evo boys & girls as well like last time.
Was good fun at the Big One but have to agree that the best bits were the drive to and from it....

Keep us informed Mikey

How about a big meet in the middle of the country with lots of different runs ending at some big campsite or something. Then everyone from all over the place can get there. This way all regions can organise their own 'staged' routes finally ending at one place for a big party! then next day we all go home

just an idea

Don't wanna dampen your fireworks Mikey but it does sound a bit OTT to me!

200 people in one place is one thing, but 200 on one route?!!!
Obviously I couldn't dream of managing ALL of this myself so i would need help but I know a few folk (If you know what i mean )
Keep me out of it

Barry, you trying to say I'm odd?
If the cap, or fiesta, fits...

Whats with this midland obsession? Brown field sites or bloody Hooray Henrys beside the Avon

Start there if you must, then head for Exmoor.

Or a lot later rather than sooner or later, if you see what I mean!
Tavs eminent logic prevails. Even with the assistance of the redoubtable Mr W, I think even Mickeys going to be hard pressed to get that together in 10 days!

Cracking idea I reckon THAT is the way forward

Charlie I didn't for one moment expect to be able to co ordinate 200+ cars on one route Disaster waiting to happen me thinks

I do like the idea of "BIG" area meets sorting out thier own routes and then ending up at one BIG venue to pitch tents and have a bit of a do

Pretty much like the BIG ONE but removing the need for some folk to have to start at 06:00hrs Drive for 2hrs+, do the event and then do another 2hr+ drive home again

What do folk think?

Thanks for all the offers of help that I have recieved via E-Mail by the way, ya names are on me list

Mikey: as ever I think we have hit the nail on the head!

You cannot expect people to drive en-masse around the country, what we need is a more Big-One approach where everyone has 'the option' to do a route to get to a camp & then get pished & maybe a bit on the side for Sunday

It's an expansion of the Big One idea and I think that it is best planned for next year as the 'camping' time is very short in the UK (btw the WCT4 is the LAST weekend that campsite is open for tents this year!)

Take it gently and lets plan a Mega meet & camp somewhere in the spring!

Wink

So now we need to think of venues, dates & 'other attractions' we could lay on at the final venue

I am thinking of somewhere Central ie Midlands (don't worry about us locals we can have lot's of fun getting anywhere)

We need ideas on locations that, whilst may be smaller than an SIDC National Day @ Donno, may be sufficient to attract & entertain a big crowd.

Now THAT sounds more feasable!

There could be significant costs involved in staging this event. So should the SIDC committee be approached for financial support?

The Subaru Impreza Drivers Club does not condone road drives, neither does Scoobynet for that matter.

But if routes were not issued in their name surely the club could not be held responsible.

Nice agenda item for the AGM, anyone know when it's happening BTW?
