And if I were to save .....a similar file.... then find I had no package to play with it....I mean play it? I would download it from where?

Drag the file into an Internet Explorer Window. If this doesn't work.. you need to install flash

If you want to play it/with it , just open it in your web browser if you have flash 
(I'm assuming you tried it and got the "open with" window...LOL...)
